I can't believe it's September already. Where did the time go? It seems like just a few weeks ago we were all basking in the glow of being 19-20 weeks pregnant and now our babes are here. :

Kendall turned a month old yesterday and I can't believe how fast he's growing up. I'm dreading going back to work in 5 weeks but that's ok. Gotta get back to work and make some money. Other than that, things are great here. I've been sitting around the house topless all day to get some air to my breast. Kendall popped right on this morning with no problem. I still had to give him a litle formula but we're getting there.

I'm planning on a "Mommy Day" for me. I'm going to get my hair done, go to the spa and just kick back. An entire day to myself before I go back to work.

I know!!!! It is so hard to believe Jaff will be 1 month in 2 days......he has already changed so much. I cant go topless because Tam will attack me. That is great about the bf: With Yasmeen I had to supplement with a bottle for a month until I solved the inverted.flat problem.......everything will fall into place
Hope everyone has a great day:

Holy Crap

I have never seen so much poop come out of such a little person!!

Yes, that's right... SHE POOPED!! :
And oh boy did she poop... yikes!

I scheduled and appointment with the pediatrician because she hadn't pooped for 11 days. The appointment was for 11 and she pooped at 10:30 (on the way out the door). Can you believe that? What a little stinker!

So, this is apparently very abnormal but completely healthy. Pediatrician says she's beautiful and perfect and everything is A-OK!

Also, growth spurts! She gained 6 oz in 4 days... no wonder she wants to eat every half hour!!

eta: Oh yeah, I guess this was our first solo outing. It was a great success, despite having to change the poopiest diaper in the history of diapers. It was weird to drive, because I haven't driven in over a month.

I survived my first solo outing with two kids!

Yippee! DH started school today, so it was my first time with the two of them alone. I was kind of nervous as my DD has been a bit of a menace lately, but I managed to get them dressed, fed, brushed, lunch packed, and we went to the library and then hit the park for some playtime and a picnic. Super bonus: they're both sleeping right now!!! I feel invincible.

I feel like we're getting into a routine, and I think it can only get better and better (esp. with preschool and other activities for my older DD starting next week!) I was feeling kind of hormonal over the weekend, but I think the 2 week mark is the worst of it. I woke up feeling MUCH more like myself this morning, thank goodness. I think it also had to do with the 8 hour stretch of sleep Rowan gave us!!! (although my boobs were KILLING when he finally did wake up to nurse!)

Monique
-congrats on the BFing success! That's awesome!
Holo..-Congrats on the big poo! (What an odd congrats, but I was thinking about your little girl, hoping everything was okay!)

Rowan looks like he's filling out. He didn't lose any weight in the beginning, and looks like he's crossing the 9 lb mark! I won't know til next week though when we go to the MW, but his legs are looking definitely less chicken-like.

Ivy is 4 weeks old today. Happy and sad at the same time. She is my last baby and now no longer an official newborn.

Today is our first day of school (homeschool) but ds was up all night coughing to we are having a sick day.

Thanks all for the well-wishes. I'm still planning on attending a LLL meeting this month (3rd tuesday) to get some extra help. Just glad we;re making progress.

And would you believe I started bleeding again today? Perhaps I'm dong too much or AF has returned. Who knows. I'm planning to ask my doc for a perscription for the mini-pill tomorrow because my face has broken out REALLY bad. I've never had acne like this.

Let me catch a nap while Kendall is sleeping.

We just got back from our 2 week weight check - Colin is now up to 8#12oz, his birthweight was 7#4oz and he was 7#7oz on 8/21.

I'm so proud of us, but I'm still really apprehensive about what will happen when I return to work (mid-November), and even more so when I start traveling again for work (quick trip in Dec-I think he can come with me and a 4-5 day trip in Feb).

Other than that, not much to report. I'm wearing my pre-preg jeans today; my first real-waistband pants since before my bfp, and it's a beautiful almost-fall day today. :

Well, we went on yet another outing today. This time to the local science center. The kids drive me nuts if we don't get out and Amelia is easy to take out still. I was pretty proud of myself, though. I nursed her in the Moby Wrap for the first time! It really was easy. The only problem I had was making room for her to breath with the wrap pushing her into the breast. We did it, though and I walked around, too!

Also, her cord fell off yesterday. I'm not sure if it all came off, though. It seems a little moist like the base of the cord is still attached. Her navel is either really deep or hasn't healed fully yet. Anyone else have this before? It doesn't look red or anything like there's a problem with it. I think if it doesn't change by tomorrow or the next day I'll call the ped.

Kendall's cord did that. the main part fell off but that was a bit that still kinda inside that needed to fall off. It would bleed a little but nothing to worry about him. He wasn't fussy so I wasn't concerned. It dried up and fell off a few days later.

Evelynn's did that too. It came off in 3 different pieces. If there are no signs of infection I wouldn't worry.

Yay I'm so relieved with you, that was totally weird. Now watch, she'll come up with something else for you to worry about tonight. haha, babies.

On our end, I haven't written her birth story because we can't decide on a name. I am not in a big rush, but really, we were 2 weeks overdue and one might think that would give us *plenty* of time to come up with something. What do you think about Ellen Cecelia? That is her two auntie's middle names. Dad and I both like it, but I'm not sure I love it. I don't know.

Anyhow, I am so happy to be in the PP thread now. Thanks for everyone's support listening to me whine!

It's been a great day. Dh was home, so I didn't "need" my mom around, (she went out) : and I got a chance to talk to dh and cry about the birth and work through some of the feelings I've been having about it.

We all saw the chiro and my hips feel SO much better.

I kinda feel like stuff is about to fall out of my vagina and I'm walking funny because my lower abdomen is really sore... maybe I'm over doing it?

Just so you know... That feeling of stuff falling out can be associated with a prolapsed uterus, Check yourself and see where your cervix is or if anything feels different from how it normally does, if so you may want to get checked out.
I'm having a similar problem.

me too!!!!!! actually... when I went to check my parts the other day to see how they are healing, I can see some of my cervix by just pointing the mirror to that direction. I was I am going to tell my mw to see if is something I should be concerned about.

Today I made my own gripe water! I gave it to baby last night and today, colic and fussiness has gotten a lot better! : He even slept more than 4 hours in a row last night and napped pretty good today. Tonight he didn't fuss at all at feeding time or before falling asleep.

How did you make the gripe water? I was going to buy some more, cuz we realized what we had was expired. But if I can make it cheaper?...

My version of Gripe Water! Mine is a very mild version of this one, a homeopathic remedy (BETTER THAN BABY'S BLISS!). It costs me about 15 cents ea batch and you get plenty of servings LOL! Just get organic chamomile tea bags ($4), Carbo Vegetabilis pellets (homeopathic $5) from any health food store and spring or distilled water $1. You can administer directly in a bottle or a dropper.

Mine is better, since it doesn't have alcohol and the other unnecessary ingredients. Chamomile and Carbo Veg is way enough for baby to stop fuss and gas. It might work for teething too!

You can also use the left overs tea bags and give baby a bath with them. That's exactly what I been doing and baby is now a happy baby

Another recipe: drink fennel tea-soak fennel seeds in hot water, and drink 2-4 cups/day if you're BFing. This really helps with baby's gassiness! You can also do fennel/dill (again, make a tea), and give 10 drops or so directly to your baby.
