Need new Pedi Immediately - Edison, NJ

Ok, mamas I need your expertise here! I'm in need of an open-minded, AP friendly pediatrician who, preferably, is familiar with delayed/selective vaccination schedules.

I've never really loved the dr's DD goes to now for several reasons, but, a few months ago when dd had a slight cold (1st and only time ever being remotely ill) I took her to the pedi to have her looked at and was raked over the coals by the most out of control dr I've ever met. Ever. The way he pushed vaccinations you'd think he invented them! Turns out he is the head dr in the group and so that means I want out - and I want out before we start the vacination process. DD will be turning one shortly and that's when dh and I decided to begin a selective schedule of vacinations.

I've looked into other dr's but they seem to be just as bad or worse. Please, mamas, give me some good recommendations! Do you have a pedi you love? For what reasons? TIA!

try searching the forum - there have been a lot of threads on this recently, with lots of recommendations. Also check the NJ vax support Yahoo group, they have a database. And, I can share a list I've been compiling personally if you send me your email. Good luck!

Here is our pedi

We were seeing her for all visits for the kids, but now just sick visits for kids and acupuncture for me and dh as well as whole health care.

She used to be our primary pedi, but she is switching over to all holistic at her holistic office so no more well visits.

Well visits are now going to be done by the pedi who is at her previous office:
Dr. Grace Yia

Dr. Yia is anti-vax friendly, but I am not sure about foreskin friendly. I know Dr. Huang is, she had me sign her up with NOCIRC as a physician believing in the NOCIRC philosophy.

Dr. Huang is the best doctor I have ever gone to. Overflowing with intelligence, compassion, humor, generosity and is up on issues concerning today's "natural parents." I highly recommend you interview both doctors to see if they fit your family's needs. We drive 40 miles one-way to see these doctors. Dr. Huang is so worth the effort. I have met Dr. Yia once, and liked her.

check out dr. karl russell-brown. he is in plainfield. i adore him! if i was not 2 hours away i would still see him. he always suggested i research vaxing. he was supportive of every decision i made. he had a partner 5 years ago, who loved seeing my kids in cloth diapers!

i use central jersey Pediatriacs in Metuchen, there are 3 drs. but I only see Dr. Lebovic, I delayed vaxes on my son and havent had a problem with him, the number is 732-767-0630

Dr Schlachter in essex fells. I live in woodbridge and its closer than I thought - 35min. On our 1st visit he said he believes a baby gets protection from the placenta for 15mos or so and especially if breast fed. you dont need to worry about vaxs depending on your circumstances. Very no/delayed vax friendly. Very pro breastfeeding. love him!
