Looking for non-CNM midwife in Ozarks area of MO

We are very likely going to be moving to the Ozarks in MO (West Plain, Willow Springs, or Mountain *something*) in October (tagging along with a friend who's moving there). I'm currently pregnant and due in March. I will not give birth in a hospital, and very much prefer not a birth center or with a CNM (too many bad experiences recently). So, now that CPM's are legal, are there any in that area? Heck, I'll even take an underground, non-certified, midwife.

I'd prefer not to have a UC, but will if I have too.

So, is there anyone in that area?

You should check with the Springfield or Stockton chapter of Friends of Missouri Midwives.

There are some but not a lot to choose from. My friend used one which I think was from the Mountain?? area...lol. I do not know what it is either ....Moutain Grove or Mountian Home???... basically about an hourish (I think) from Springfield (which is where my friend lives)

I do not know her name or if she is currently doing anymore, but I could probably find out.

I'm in West Plains!! It's so great to see someone else coming to the area! We have lots of Mountain____'s around here.. Mountain Grove, Mountain View (both near Willow Springs) and then there is Mountain Home down in Arkansas. I know of someone who is friends with a non-certified midwife. I'll try and get her phone number for you. I think if you ask around at the health food stores in the area, you could probably get info on a couple different people.
