7-8dpo?!

So, for some reason I was thinking I got my positive opk about 2 weeks ago. (Which I was convinced was false positives, lol. didn't wanna get my hopes up I guess?) Well my sil corrected my math. august 24th-25th were my positives. So lets assume I O'd on the 25th or 26th. That would make me 7-8dpo. Isn't that a little bit crazy early to get a bfp?! And its not a faint one, either. I'd say its a "medium" darkness. http://babywishes.org/testresults.html I'd compare it to about the 4th or 5th one down from the top. And thats the test brand I used. I'd take a pic, but we don't know where the cord for the camera is..doh! Isn't that a little early for it to be that dark?

I tested early too and got the same thing -a medium-like line-

Hmmm, maybe your body just builds up hCG really quickly.

Maybe! I wonder if maybe I ovulated a few days (or a week, lol) earlier and the LH just stuck around and I still had positive tests.

OPKs can be tricky to read. I always had lines on mine and had to judge my surge by how dark the second line was. Perhaps you ovulated earlier than you thought. When was your last period?

lol.. last period was april 27, 06 and the test lines were darker than the control lines on those two days (I did not test any earlier days)

Then I guess it'll be a bit of a mystery, but if you had good dark lines for two days, you most likely ovulated on the second dark day. (I always get two days of positives as well)

Maybe you have extra strong hormones for twins?

yeah that'd put me at 8dpo. i was AFRAID someone would say maybe twins :X I don't want to say "I hope not" because if there are 2 babies, thats the same as wishing I didn't have one of them that said, ideally I do prefer to have my babies 1 at a time!! This is a vbac baby so I'm just scared of anything that could mean higher risk

Did you take any OPKs after the two positives?

Hmmmm, you know, sometimes OPKs read positive when you're pregnant. Maybe they were saying "pregnant", not "ovulating"! Meaning you could be much further along than you think. I guess only a doctor can tell you for sure... Are you thinking of getting an ultrasound?

see, since I at first didn't believe the opk (I was convinced my body was just "gearing up" to ovulate, but then wouldn't actually release an egg) so on the 25th I tested, and then again 2-4 days after that (don't remember exactly) and it was neg. No idea about u/s. I don't know what midwife I'm going to use. There are TONS here!! I made an appt for a consultation with one for thurs, but I want to interview at least 3 before deciding.
