I can't do this anymore

I am so sore. I have never been this uncomfortable in my life. My body hurts like I have never experienced. I can't get comfortable in one position for more than like 20 minutes. My back is killing me and my hip is constantly locking up on me. I saw my midwife today and it was been 2 weeks since she checked me. Last time I was 2-3 cm and this time I am 3-4. I could cry. Her best guess is another 7-10 days. I don't know how I can possibly do this for 7-10 more days. I feel like a big whiny baby and obviously I don't have much choice but to do this (other than starting labor which I don't want to do). I just want to go cry....

Just couldn't read this without giving you a hug--

I'm sorry you're feeling so uncomfortable...
Have a good cry if you feel like it, then make yourself a cup of tea and take a nice bath, or something else that you can do nice for yourself! Time seems to go so slowly at the end...

I'm so there with you...

I highly recommend finding a way to get into water if at all possible--enough that you can be floating or semi-floating. We set up our birth pool (AquaDoula) the other night for a trial run and it was heavenly. Being in the water totally took all the pressure/weight off of my hips/back, I felt like I wanted to sleep in the tub it was sooo comfortable.

Norabelle's suggestion for getting into a tub (or even a pool would be great!) sounds like an awesome idea to me!

Just try to get as much rest as possible..if that is possible! You're almost done! You can do it!! Just think about how you will get to see your baby soon, and this stuff will all be over sooner than later.

I did the same thing! It was HEAVEN!!! I wish I could find a way to sleep in water.

A trusted chiropractor might not be a bad thing, either...

I'm with the other posters... pool, bath, some kind of hydrotherapy!

Oh man today I went down to our neighborhood pool and it was so awesome. It does kind of suck getting back out though and having all the weight come back onto you.

Ditto what everyone else said.

Also - if you can spring for a prenatal massage, that will feel heavenly. Or spring for a pedicure at least -one of the places that has those massaging chairs.

I so feel your pain... I am so ready for this baby to come... but have a feeling it is going to be a while... I am sending my family out to dinner and then I am going to take a bath...

I was going to reply earlier today but my internet was being funky.

I just wanted to give you *hugs* and let you know that I too suffer pain and wish for it to end and for my baby to be in my arms.

So sorry honey, I am totally with you and can relate.

My pains aren't like yours though. I have this weird thing going on for the last month that keeps getting worse. It's a burning pain that goes tingly numb sometimes in my left rib cage. It's getting so bad I am in tears.

Praying we both get some relief soon!!!

I'm with you. It's after midnight, so technically today is my edd. I'm miserably uncomfortable and I don't feel like any progress has been made- I think I could go another week. I was late with DS and all along I've said I'd be ok going late this time. But I'm sore, I'm sweaty, and I just want this baby out already!! sigh.

Wow, weird! Maybe your ribs are misaligned? Pregnancy can do that to ya. I hope it goes away afterwards!

I have been getting that for the last few weeks too, but on my right side. It really hurts!

My BIL is a chiropractor. I asked him about it and he said it could be a rib out of place, or nerve being pushed on by my huge overextended uterus (thanks to polyhydramnios).

He said he would look at me but this late in the game he said it might not help, most likely wouldn't, until I've have the baby. He said it would probably just jump right back out of place if it's a rib being pushed out.

I see my peri today and this will be the 4th week I will be bringing it up to her. As much as I hate taking meds, she is gonna have to give me something for the pain. It had me up till 4 am last night PUKING from the pain.

I took 7 baths yesterday because laying in a warm bath water helps a little.

Sitting on an excersise ball has always helped me!!! It really takes the pressure off of your hips, and genlty rocking your hips while seated is relaxing. Have someone there to help spot you, if you havn't used one before. You can get these in the excersise dept of most any store, usually ten bucks or so.....
