Hi all!!

I have a daughter that was very severely injured after recieving her first vaccines. We have been fighting our way through the compensation program and am finally at the end.

My problem now is that it shouldn't have taken 8 years to get to this point when this was designed to be a no fault system. Both of her attorneys and others involved have agreed that I have no need to stay silent on this issue and I am beginning a long battle to make more people aware of this flawed system and try to get legislators to listen and make the necessary changes.

I have created a blog to assist me in getting the word out.

COuld you guys look over it and tell me what you think? I am going to be adding to it, posting my daughters story and the struggles with this ridiculous system, not only to make changes but to educate others. I followed the "rules" and then was left hanging in the wind by the very same people who mandated the injuring vaccines. I have been told by some not so nice people that vaccines are necessary and if their child were injured, at least the government has set up a program to take care of the medical expenses. UGGGHHHHH!!!!

Sooooo....Could you guys let me know about what you think of the layout? It is easy to read? Any advice on how to start posting photos? HAHA I am so computer illiterate but I am determined.

Thanks!!!

I want to thank you for taking the time to get the word out. Can I have your permission to copy your blog info and story? I would love to help you get the word out, because I get sick of hearing what a great system it is when in fact, it's quite the opposite.

I would love it!!

I know the reasons reforms had failed in the past is because there was so little mainstream interest. With all of the issues with vaccines lately, I think now is the time to put this issue to the forefront.

I'm so sorry for what you all have been through, I cannot imagine.
Yes, it seems easy to read to me. I have not ran a blog before so cannot help with the pictures. You could also get some related links going on the side.

Someone told you this?? Is it supposed to be comforting?? Did they know we pay for it, not the drug companies? The no-fault system is crap. They need to be held liable but I don't need to tell you that.

Have you talked to other families of vaccine injured children? Are there more out there than most people think?

You said you were at the end, does that mean the case is all done?
I research vaccines a lot but haven't read much about the 'vaccine court' so I'll be reading your blog to see how it all came down.

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of affected families out there. I have spoken to my attorney at length about this and she said that by the time the case is done, people are tired and don't ever want to deal with the "system" again. Children have died waiting for the settlement, at that point 250,000 is the maximum allowed ( but is not often granted). No previous medical bills, nothing.

Please spread the link to anyone you think would be interested.

I really need to generate more interest. Most people, even doctors, are not even aware of the program.

No, my case is not completely done yet. But we are close. Once again they are dragging out every day that they can.

Thank you for sharing your story. I noticed a typo. You wrote the date as February 11, 2001.

Thank you.

That wasn't a typo. That was the date she had her reaction. I decided to start at the beginning. We have been going through this process for over seven years.

The blog looks good, easy to read and definitely something I will pass onto others. I can't help you with loading pics though. Although so many people have been through the process of settlement, there isn't actually much out there on the payment structure. Are you saying that if your child dies because of a vaccine you are entitled to only $250,000? I will continue to read updates on the blog. Thanks for sharing your story.

Yes, that is all they get. Even if it happens after the court finds in their favor. And it has ha[ppened. The process takes so long.

There is so much that has happened that I felt it would be easier to start at the beginning and lead up to what we are fighting with now.

OK. So it looks like the February 9, 2000 is the typo, since that was before she was born.

Thank you! That is what I get for trying to do this with all the kids running around and not reading it over.

Thank you so much! I am going to work on photos next.

This is really stepping out of my comfort zone of privacy (not to mention I am very simple when it comes to computers) but it is going to take a strong voice to get things changed.

Absolutely, you have my permission to link it. I need the word to spread and to generate attention.

I have quite a few long term plans to change this process but I need mine to be finished first.

Wow, what an amazing story. I can't imagine going through what you and your family went through, especially Angelica. What a tough little girl you have there.

Thank you all for your kind words. For the record, these people are despicable and should be ashamed of the things they perpetrate, not only on families but also on adults who are injured by vaccines, of which there are many.
