Macnamara- how old are your kids? I've never seen anyone from Joplin on here before! I've got a semester left of nursing school but occasionally have some free time for play dates!

Flitting in, looking for Joplin moms. I have an interview there in 3 weeks. Hoping for a job - would start late May. Have ds 8, dd5, and one due in September. Anybody able to tell me about Joplin? Good schools? Housing?... TIA

I have a 1 year old.

Where are you going to school?

Sounds like there might be another person moving in!

I live north of Joplin. The schools are good, but I think they are crowded. There were 400 kids in my graduating class and that was 15 years ago.

There are lots of options for housing. People are starting to renovate older homes and fixing up some neighborhoods. Or there are the new subdivisions that are springing up.

A chiropractors office. (Can't say more yet)... I have interviews in two other states the same week, but like the Joplin position the best.

Dh and I are up for an older home to renovate.

Any midwives doing homebirth in the area?

One of the LLL leaders is doing a homebirth. I think her midwife is from Stockton (which is about 50 miles away). If you'd like, I can ask at the next meeting if they know of anyone else.

There are some great older homes.
