Quickest technique to make a rag rug?

I want to make a rag rug to put in front of my kitchen sink because I want something I can throw in the wash when my dog pees on it (she always does).

Knitted, crocheted, or sewn and coiled? What do you think is fastest? Does anyone have any experience with this?

For a rag rug, the fastest for me was the toothbrush rug. It's a sort of cross between crochet and braiding, but you can make a decent sized rug in a single night (if your fabric is already cut, that is).

If you google "Toothbrush Rug" you'll come up with all sorts of instructions, and even videos on how to do it.

I saw THIS tutorial onhow to make a crochet rag rug out of old tee shirts. I think that is an excellent idea, and hope to give it a try one of these days.

Quickest? Cut t-shirts into circles and loop them together to make long chains. Then braid and coil the braid.
A peg loom is pretty speedy too, though.
