I ended up with a C section with DD1 and this time around having a VBAC, however on my birth plan I have included a few extra details about the Csection part (if, but hopefully not, needed).

* eg. doctors/nurses to avoid "small talk" during surgery (this bugged the hell out of me in hindsight the first time. I could hear them talking about their vacations while stitching me up and I'm lying there all by myself while my baby and DH were somewhere else checking baby)

* double layer sutures (this may be a tricky one, as doctor may just do whatever he/she normally does, but that would be my preference in case planning future pregnancy/delivery)

* curtain to be held down when baby coming out to let me see

* photos/video to be taken by my husband (we did this the first time, and was invaluble in helping me after to feel like I was "part of it", as I could see her body coming out and see her take her first breath, etc. However, I think
"hospital policy" might dictate this one)

oh yeah, if vag delivery, do you have any preferences for cord clamping or 3rd stage placenta delivery?

I'd add what type of fetal monitoring you'd prefer.
