Pediatrician/Family Practice doc in Berkeley or Walnut Creek area

Hi. We take our twins to UCSF & are happy with them for the girls for a variety of reasons, but want a local doctor for our baby. He currently goes to Kiwi Peds in Berkeley & they're okay, but I'm not loving them. We're in Orinda, so either Berkeley or the Walnut Creek area is good for us. We delay and selectively vaccinate our son & I want a doctor who if that's not their personal choice, doesn't give scare tactics or other such things to discourage spreading them out. One thing I really like about our UC ped is that I can call him directly and leave a voice mail & he calls me back promptly.

So if you have anyone you really like, please share!

We used Muir pediatrics & Dr okamura! We stoped vaxing & she didn't push us for that. When we did vax ds1 she allowed me to nurse him while administering shots!

The receptionists are kind of snobby & pushy. & she has pushed for other tests & such sometimes. We liked her. Have to switch to Kaiser now

I like Dr. Bean in Oakland. I don't vax at all and he never said anything until I asked to discuss it and then he said the reasons he vaxxed his kids but said that we have a different situation than his and that is was completely my choice. His office has been very supportive of breastfeeding as well. The only things I'v been annoyed at is there a lot of formula samples around his office and the fact that it's hard to actually see Dr. Bean himself lately. However I'm very happy with the nurse practitioner we've been seeing. I chose Dr. Bean because when I had my first he was the ped at the hospital and was so laid back and helped me not be so stressed. when the nurses were freaking out about my son's jaundice, he was so calm and gentle and kept assuring me I had a healthy baby.
