I can't sleep. I'm tired yet can't fall asleep. I just got Kendall to lie down so I guess I should try to catch some zzz's before he wakes up around 3 something.

Our first appt is today for both of us. I have no idea what to expect for my check-up but are going to ask for a perscription for BC pills. My acne is really bad. I've never had it like this and when I was on the pill, my skin was totally clear. I'm going to see if the pill clears it back up quickly.

No other plans for the day, might up the mall and walk a lap just get out of the house and in between our doctor appointments. Other than that, should be a very relaxed evening.

Tomorrow my mw is coming to visit, after that, my mom, dd#2, me and baby are going to the grocery store and get a few things.

I got good news!!! We are eligible for medicaid!!! woohoo! : I am so relieved that my pregnancy is going to be taken care of and the kids are going to be covered just in case. I am really hoping, with the new government (elections - new president), things will change. This insurance thing is driving me nuts and every time I need the government help there is so much bureaucracy and too much paper work needs to be done and too much trouble I have to go through to get accepted! No more stress over insurance for the kids!!! : at least for a year...

My baby is 4 wks already boohoo!!! He looks so big and he is so heavy, my back is killing me! I am calling my chiro tomorrow to make an appt.

Ok, we ended up not using our fantastic, wonderful midwife. I couldn't remember how much we paid her last time but it was around $642. She said her rate this time was $725, but that, as returning customers we could pay $642. Well, I paid her $725 cause I just wanted to bless her yk... but dh is a little irked that I paid more than she asked for (I don't think $80 makes a huge difference but...). from his perspective I understand.

Actually, I was going to mention ito dh that I was going to pay more but decided against it because I knew what he would say :

So it's confirmed: I'm not a frugal wife. Am the only one who struggles with this problem?

August is doing great. Poor guy just wants to suckle sometimes but my let down reflex is sensitive so he never really gets the chance!
We had a wellness check today (a total waste of time if you ask me) and of course he's doing great.

Tell me how noisy your babies are when they sleep. I know this is normal but gosh she is grunty and LOUD! I feel like I can tell the minute they turn into actual "awake" noises but I worry she is trying to tell me something anyway...

Having time to post more is awesome Our AC died on Sunday and the warranty company doesn't have anyone available to come out until Friday : At least it's been overcast and rainy here or else the heat would just kill us!

I've never needed to use lotion on a babe before, but I noticed Elias' skin is so sensitive and is peeling in some spots. No rashes or anything, just like dead skin. I'd prefer natural/organic and am open to suggestions

robertandenith Awesome about Medicaid!! We went ahead and applied as well since I'm out of a job now :

jenny Elias is so quiet you can forget he's there when he sleeps If you're worried, look it up on the web - I'm a total self diagnoser

Klynne My DH is a cheapie - not that it's always bad, but sometimes it's like are you for real

Monique Hope your appt went well

Was a pound under my pre-pregnancy weight this morning. Next goal: tightening up my abs enough to be able to fasten my old pants comfortably. They button but it's a scary scary muffin-top experience even though the legs are super-loose.

Appt went well today. Turns out AF did show up yesterday. It was so embarassing to be on the table and the nurse says, "Yup, looks like AF is here"" I also got a Rx for progestrogen-only pills. My weight is back to normal, but with 3 additional pounds. : That's totally my fault because I need to workout more. tomorrow I am definitely taking Kendall on a long walk.

Kendall's appt went great! He's up to 8 lbs 6 oz, 21 inches long, he's developing great. He gets his shots at his next appointment, but that delays daycare for him. He gets his shots on the 10/3 and I wanted him to start daycare on 10/1. Can't start daycare without those shots. Oh well, just means I get another few days at home.

I bought a nipple shield today so we'll see if that also helps with the breastfeeding. Other than that, I feel great. Oh yea! One of my mom's co-workers gave me a bag of clothes for Kendall. Their all 6 months so that's perfect! hopefully he can fit them by then.

I went out and bought myself some makeup. I really want to get a haircut or get some braids but I don't have the money for that right now or in a few weeks. I am totally on a tight budget for the month of September so I'll be spending tons of time doing free stuff, exercising and lookign for a new job.

Hope everyone had a great day.

We use olive oil and jojoba oil on our kids (well, I use sweet almond oil on DD, but she's older). Keep it pure and simple Rowan was peely too.
Our kids "smell like salad" (as my borther says), but their skin is lovely!

Monique-

I have the same sleep problem as you: tired as anything and cannot fall asleep. I even have this problem in the middle of the night after feeding and changing ds...it takes me, sometimes, an hour to fall back asleep! I also have a really hard time napping and I know that is soooo important.

Someone else wrote about noisy sleeping babies. My son makes a lot of noise when he sleeps, but it is mostly in the 15 minutes before he wakes up (so I guess what i'm saying is the noise is actually him waking up). He grunts A LOT! I wouldn't worry. With the grunting it always seems to be him working out gas--which happens in his sleep--or it is grunting to break out of his swaddle as he wakes up to eat.

I'm curious as to how much all of your babes are sleeping at night. My DS is, on average, waking up about every 3 hours to eat. His first stretch of sleep at night can sometimes go 4 hours, but then it's usually 3 hours from there, which is great. One time he slept 5 hours in the first stretch (but that was starting at like 8pm and we don't get into bed until 10:30 or so). But it was still pretty great!

How do your babes sleep during the day v. the night?

Glad to see all are well.
