Thought I would start a new thread.

What's everyone up to? I am unpacking and trying to figure out where things are located. Its sorta nerve wracking for me cause DH isn't here.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Good luck with unpacking. I hate that most about moving! We are finally done unpacking and setting up our house and it's such a relief!

We're doing good. Nothing exciting to report.

I got my books unpacked today! I think that was the most exciting, I also unpacked the files and got them onto the filing cart. Hopefully I will have my whole office corner set up by this weekend.

Hey Tacoma Mamas!!
I haven't checked in in awhile, but wanted to update that we gave birth to our baby girl, Lucy, 2 weeks early on Aug 28th. She's doing great and we're slowly making the transition into family-of-four!!

Was going to try to make it to the LLL meeting tomorrow, but I'm just too tired. So hopefully we'll be there next month!

Better run as toddler just fell asleep, baby needs nursing.

Phew, its been hot and my house gets nothing but sun so its close to 80* inside my house right now.

My parents dropped some more of my stuff off today and my Mom went to town on my garden. She deadheaded all my roses and lavender plants. Then she tried to prop up the jasmine plant that's along the side of the house. She even picked some tomatoes.

How's the weekend treating everybody else?

We had a good, relaxing weekend. Usually we're always out and about but I'm glad we took it easy this weekend. My DD is starting K12 today.

My weekend was busy with lots and lots of moving and unpacking. I smashed my right hand pretty good moving the couch into the house, its all yellow looking now.

I'm here! What does everyone have planned for the weekend? We're going to Pt. Defiance Zoo for the first time on Sunday since the admission is free that day. We're not sure what we're going to do on Saturday. We may possibly go to Puyallup fair but I'm not sure if I wanna deal with crowds.

Ooh, the zoo is free that day? Good to know.

There's also the Maritime Festival this weekend, and although the only part of it I ever do is the free Port tours, I love those tours! Looks like the tours are leaving from the Foss waterway this year; they have in the past (though we missed last year) left from actually at the Port off in the wasteland, LOL, so this might be easier.

Do you guys ever meet up? I might be needing more female companionship than normal, b/c hubby was just diagnosed with diabetes (not sure which type yet, as two doctors are disagreeing) and we're just reeling. He's upset enough, without me bursting into tears at the stupid things like "omg I can't bake for my guys anymore" etc etc etc. Sigh.

And he's still trying to get some scary blood glucose levels down, so I don't know that he will be able to go to the zoo even for free, nor do I know if walking back from the Martime fest will be easy for him if he can't get his blood sugar regulated (he's not on insulin right now b/c the second doc REFUSED to even consider it, and the metformin is working but very very slowly, and his numbers are still too high despite being very careful with his diet).

What's the Maritime festival? Off to Google that!

Audrey (don't remember her username here) started an AP group and we've been meeting on Wednesday mornings. We would love to have more people join so you should come sometime! And then I would love to meet anyone who wants to meet up ... always open to meeting new people!

I'm sorry about your DH. I lived with my ILs last year and my Grandma IL has diabetes and my MIL was/is borderline and I'm hoping my husband never gets it.

I am trying not to bake to death right now. This weather is completely unnatural for Washington! I want my crisp, cool days of Autumn already

I have had to halt unpacking as it is mostly things that my DH needs to go through. He should be home for a couple of days next month and he promises that he will go through it all then.

How is everyone else holding up in this heat?
I am loving this heat. I'm sad to hear this is not normal because the weather is perfect right now! lol We are out everyday doing things because it is so nice. The only thing I'm not enjoying is not having AC!

Hey ladies. I've popped in here before, but my subscription to the thread always disappears and then I forget. Anyways I just found out I'm preggo. :
I ended up switching to the pearl place midwives when I was 6 months preggo last time and going to the birthing inn. I'm pretty sure I want to do the birthing inn again, but I want to see what what my options are. I didn't have any specific complaints about the midwives at pearl place but just want to see what's out there. So does anyone have any recommendations for midwives? I'm in Puyallup.

I like Ann Olsen. She does both Homebirth and Birthing Inn.
Congrats on your coming blessing! :

I am so ready for the temps to go back down. This is gross without a/c!!
Oh - but my tomatoes need some sun and heat, or else we will be eating green tomato salsa all winter. My favorite midwife was in Tacoma - Nikki Ullery - I think she is now at the birthing inn. She was fantastic, let me birth how I wanted!

Finally, some cold weather! Its so nice to wake up and have it be lightly misting outside. I missed this type of weather.

I can finally make some comfy, warm foods!
