Anybody going to the Puyallup fair this weekend?

No, I haven't been to the fair in ages! DH always seems to be deployed during fair time as well.

I couldn't make what I was planning for dinner. My Mom dropped some stuff off and wanted to go to Muckleshoot Casino *sigh* I have to go with her to control her, which only works a little bit. We got back to late for things to cook be put in the crockpot in time.

Tomorrow though I am having some good crockpot chicken!

We keep forgetting about the Puyallup fair and everyone tells me we just HAVE to go because it's so fun. One weekend left of it, so we may try to go.

Okay, I need a dentist! I have a bit of a toothache. Can anyone recommend someone who sees both adults and kids and is good with kids and lets parents be there while their kids are getting treated?

Also, my daughter wants to take piano lessons. Any recommendations for that?

Dentist: We see Dr. Zimmer in Brown's Point. I like him because he is very practical and won't perform unnecessary procedures (actually told a friend of mine to get Crest Whitestrips rather than pay for tooth whitening in his office) and his staff has always been very respectful and gentle. I had to have several teeth filled at once a couple of years ago, and he was very willing to prioritize the work so that I could do one or two at a time for $$ reasons. We have not taken dd in yet, but plan to soon for a cleaning. I can't imagine him excluding a mom from the room since he has been really accomodating in other respects. But that would def. be a deal breaker for me.

Piano Lessons: I don't know of anyone but you might try contacting UPS and seeing if any of their music students want to teach. I know you can post a listing on their job wall on campus.

It's supposed to be rainy again tomorrow, but probably a lot lighter than today. Hopefully we won't be soaked and cold for the fair.

I am loving today's weather! Its so nice, crisp and sunny out. Makes me wish I had some lawn chairs to sit outside and drink tea.

How is everyone else doing this Monday?

I'm pretty sure I want to do the birthing inn again, but I want to see what what my options are. I didn't have any specific complaints about the midwives at pearl place but just want to see what's out there. So does anyone have any recommendations for midwives? I'm in Puyallup.
Congrats Laura!

I second Ann.. she is amazing! I also like Amy Gordon.

Oh.. and Im pretty sure Nikki is up in Redmond, not at PP.

I was looking through the thread and moved to Tacoma in March. I am looking for a midwife too since I may have a BFP pretty soon. I was going to Babycatchers and beyond. They're ok but I don't think they are the place for me. I switched to Pearl Place, but I also want to keep my options open. I was thinking Ann Olsen but she's a bit far (Enumclaw) but if she's good she might be worth the trip.

We are thinking of having our next baby at the Birthing Inn - how did it go for you?

How is everyone? Looks like we are headed for another spell of warm weather.

I love the weather right now. We're going to go to the pool in a little while.

I got a BFP on a couple of HPTs this morning. It hasn't sunk in yet, but I'm sure it will soon.

Congrats to the prego Mamas!!

I'm excited to hear of warm weather. For my PPD I strive to get out for at least one decent walk everyday. We even walked in the rain last week!

I want to try to get to the meet-up that someone mentioned. Its a bit hard to go out with a not-quite-2 year old and a 4 week old. But a parenting group would be more understanding than the cashier @ Safeway.

: CONGRATS!!!

DH comes home in about 10 days, I am so excited! Hopefully this isn't the only time he comes home this deployment but, that is the talk that's going around.

The only thing I don't like about this weather is how hot my house gets. It gets blasted with sun all day long and boy does it get hot in here some days! I will probably go outside for a little bit tomorrow so I can journal in the sun.
