A wool soaker. It's workable, both DD and DS wore it and I'll use it on the new babe. Lots of obvious flaws, especially in the waistband ribbing. I learned to knit just so I could afford wool covers for our kids. Now it's an obsession.

I didn't even attempt kitchener on my first soaker! I used the 3 needle bind off for the crotch. My ribbing was all screwy because I could not keep track of my knits and purls to save my life. It took me ages to figure that out!
A PIG! No really! This summer, I wanted to see if I could follow a pattern. Turns out that I can! I progressed to hats and mittens with plans for other critters. I finally got off my butt and learned because I went to a Sheep and Wool festival, fell in love with a knit felted sheep and bought two so my friend could make us one and one for herself. Then went home and said I CAN DO THAT! And it turns out I can. When I get the sheep and pattern back, I fully intend to make a flock of a variety of colors.
i made a big nasty acrylic blanket for my son when I was pregnant with him 4 years ago and even after all the work on it i have gotten rid of it it was fine knit ok and all just boring all garter stitch and yucky red heart acrylic not something i want on my baby anyway.
