Considering moving, need some practical help...

DH and I have a long history with VT. We currently live in NJ and are pretty miserable overall. We have something of a home base near Middlebury, but aren't sure how to look into moving.

DH is a HS teacher and I was/am an elementary school teacher. Currently I'm teaching at a community college. What does the job situation look like for teachers in VT? Anyone out there with experience living on one teacher's income?

Thanks!

My mother was a single mom & teacher for many years in VT. It is doable, or at least was. I have no idea how the teaching situation there is now. Start applying for jobs and see what happens. The only thing is how the teacher certifications transfer from state to state. I know when my mom moved to CT from VT she "lost" a number of years of experience on the pay ladder. But all that would come up during the interview process I believe.
