Horrible experience at Quest lab in crofton, md

Hey guys, I thought I'd let everyone know about our experience with Quest today. Unfortunately, I had to take almost my 15mo DS to get some labs done today. I thought my doctor was going to send me a labcorp form and had previously gotten some recs of good Labcorps, but she sent me a quest form(our insurance uses either). Anyhoo...I looked up which were pediatric and then called his previous peds office (in crofton...new ped is far away in clarksville) to see if they had better experiences with one over another for babies and they said crofton is good. WRONG! I made an appt, the guy looked nervous and I straight up asked him if he was good with babies. In a round about way he said no but he'd look and wouldn't try unless he saw a good vein. Trying not to be a crazy mother I allowed this, though I regret it because I think the tourniqet and holding part is what he hated. He said he has "small veins" (obviously) so I said fine, I'm not comfortable if you're not and I don't want him stuck a lot..where is the best for babies, he said definitely Bowie in the Omni building. Took him there as walk in, we only sat for a couple minutes. Gina drew his blood and she was nice and did a good job. He still screamed (probably because he was already slightly traumatized 30mins before) but I felt like she had the confidence and know how that the person in crofton definitely lacked. And she was much better with my son- trying to distract him and make him smile, etc. Croftons office was also not as nice and was only staffed by one person. So bowie/omni building quest gets a thumbs up...avoid crofton. HTH someone in the future.
I feel like a horrible mommy...oy!

I live in Gambrills and have used the Crofton Quest Lab several times. Usually it is staffed by two women, even a few weeks ago both were there as I had to have my blood taken then. They did fine with my son on both the finger prick and also his arm. I'm not sure about a guy working there, I wonder if he was some sort of fill in?

Hmm...I hope so. Its just annoying because I made an appointment and specified pediatric, ykwim? Glad you had better luck. If you go there an african american male with dark hair and a mustache, I'd go elsewhere or reschedule. Sorry wish I could remember his name...
