Sitters in Maine?

I'm in Bath and looking for a good sitter. Does anyone have recommendations? I've been looking for the past months and have yet to find someone reliable. So far I've posted on craigslist and the local paper, told just about everyone I know but no luck so far. Any ideas? I'm starting to worry about losing my job at this point due to so many missed days.

You could contact your local DHS office and ask if they have any resources for DHS approved childcare individuals. In this area, there is an agency that will send a list of approved people/facilities in the area that you live.

Good luck!

Hi Dawn,

Are you looking for a sitter for a specific time frame? Like in your home or looking for part time daycare? And I don't think I know where you work, you can PM me if you want. I have Anna in an awesome home daycare here in Brunswick, totally supportive of my choices and such. Let me know, I'll give you her number, I know she does part time care as well.

If it's daytime care you are looking for, there are a number of folks in Brunswick that would have full and part time opportunities open. I don't know anyone for occasional daytime sitting. You could try Bowdoin college, but they'd need a car . . ..

are you looking for someone full time....or do you work a part time or flexible schedule?

I work in the afternoon and evening, 3-4 nights a week, so daycare isn't a good option. I'm also working at home so I'm trying to get someone to come here since when I get out the kids are sleeping.
Bowdoin is another place I'm going to advertise...the late hours might be fine for a college student.
Thanks for all the suggestions so far!
