Which part of the city do you live in?
We just moved to Ballard. I spend a lot of time lurking around the Ballard coffee and tea shops working on my thesis
Congratulations on finishing the Masters! I think I know that level of relief because I submitted my M.Ed. thesis to my committee on Friday. I graduate officially in December (from University of Hawaii). Barnes and Noble and the UW library were my thesis-working haunts. What area are you studying and which university? Mine is early childhood education/child development research. I live close to University Village. My toddler and I spend a lot of time there because of the train table at B&N.

Its nice to "meet" you!

I'm originally from WA state, a tiny little town about 90 miles NE of Seattle called Darrington. I now live in Skaneateles, NY, near Syracuse.

I think you town is so cute! We drive through it all the time to take a break from the freeway on our way from New Jersey (hubby's family) to Barrie (where we now live). And actually, we drove through there the day after we got married and had lunch at this cute little lakeside restaurant. The server broke up a discussion between us on how to say the name of your town. She told us to picture a husband who was grateful that his wife finally went on a diet to lose the weight. And he now can she's "Skinny-at-last" or "Skaneateles". Weird, right?
But your town is soooo sweet. Love the view you have on the water there! If there were a Starbucks in town, I would have considered moving there when we were debating on where to settle down.

Was the restaurant called the Blue Water Grill by chance?
The town is beautiful, but very well-to-do (of which we are not and live on the outskirts) which I think gives it a bit of a reputation for snobbishness (like, "Oh, you live in Skaneateles, you must be rich"). It's a very peaceful place to live, with an excellent school system, which was one of the things that really drew us here.
Drove by the lake today-very rough waters!

ETA-your dd is SO ADORABLE! Love that grin

You're all making me miss NY! We're originally from northern NY and I know the town you're talking about, we will probably end up in Ithaca when we head back to NY in three years.

Interesting! My husband is studying neuroscience in the animal behavior group. He's taking his General Exams for his PhD at the end of month. Crazy time!

I am from Oregon Ohio. It's a suburb of Toledo. I would really like to relocate, but DH wants to go west and I want to go south, so we're at a standstill!

I can't remember if I answered or not. I'm from Pittsburgh. I grew up here and would SO much rather be in Colorado.

My family is in Salem, Oregon, so I get to spend holidays there
