Nice boring appointment as always! I am a "tight" 3cm now, and still about 50% effaced I reckon. She asked if I wanted to be induced since I have 3 kids already (maybe she has a lot of people ask for that?) and I said "NO! I just want to be left alone!" She said ok no problem! I think she's only been there a couple months, I really liked her.
The 3cm doesn't excite me any...my 1st and 3rd babies came 1 day before EDD, 2nd babe came 6 days late! And I was about 3cm with all of them starting out. Bah!

To me (and maybe because I'm a total novice) it sounds exciting to be 3cm dilated pre-labor! It's like getting a head start!

That's what I was going to say. It doesn't tell you when labor will start, but it sure is nice knowing you've already gotten some of the work done. With my first, it took HOURS and HOURS to get to 3 cm! With my second I was 4 cm before my labor ever started. I much preferred the second labor!

It's great that your care provider is so relaxed!

I'm at pretty much the same gestation (38 weeks, 2 days) and have minimal effacement, and no dilation...

hmm...

My first child was born 2 days before his due date. Wonder if lil' sister is just super comfy, and wants to stick it out for the long haul?

We have seven immediate family september birthdays already, I wonder if she thinks she can make it to October for her 'own' month? That would put me at exactly 2 weeks post due date.
