searching for a dentist with a gental approach in the Durham area

Does anyone have a reccomendation for a dentist in the area with a gentler approach?

My kids haven't had to have any work done, but all the little kids I know who have had to have much work have had it under general anesthesia. Not much help I know, but perhaps some moms here who have had similar experiences will chime in.

That is an option but the work she is having done is already in the thousands and going under would add quite a bit to that. If that's the only way she can get through it than we will have to find away to do it.

I would check about what the cost difference would be. The dentist charged us an extra $500, I think, because he had to clear his schedule for the day. But all of the other costs were covered by our health insurance, which according to the dentist is required by law.

I am so so glad we went the GA route. There was basically no trauma for my dd.

oh my gosh I had no idea health insurance would cover it. Honestly that never occuer to me. We have dental insurance but they pay 1,000 per insurance year period. I will PM you.

The dentist never mentioned this to me just that it would be signifagntly more expesnive.

I looooove Dr. Neal at Duke Pediatric Dentistry. http://www.dukehealth.org/physicians...256DFD006A921C She is great and very gentle. Ds had similar issues with his teeth. I choose to have all the work done in office visits and she and her staff were so great that I think he actually enjoyed it.

Sorry for the double post, but she encourages parents to go back with the little ones, but has a list of words that parent aren't allowed to say (like hurt and things like that).
