We were given one of these for our baby to be. I hadn't taken it from the box, as when I looked at it I questioned the safety of the small attachments.

Haba USA, the manufacturer of the toy, has reported the following information:
The wooden rattles, pram chains and balls contain small pieces including glued on mirrors and/or prisms that can detach, posing a choking hazard to infants. The recalled items were distributed from April 2003 through May 2008 and sold for between $10 and $25.We are instructing consumers that purchased the recalled products from your store to return them directly to Habermaass Corp Inc. Consumers will receive a free replacement rattle or a full refund.” HAZARD: The wooden rattles, pram chains and balls contain small pieces including glued on mirrors and/or prisms that can detach, posing a choking hazard to infants.
