Yes, I think technically it is breast feeding...not breastfeeding.

Maybe MS word is a lactivist? They prefer saying "feeding" instead of breastfeeding... LOL!

Wouldn't "breast feeding" be feeding your breasts?

Anyway, my version of MS Word does recognize breastfeeding as a word. I have MS Office Professional 2003.

It does the same in Open Office and the spellchecker for Firefox. See, right now it is telling me spellchecker isn't a word. Anyways, like a pp said, it's just looking for a space between 'breast' and 'feeding'.

In the media it had always been breast-feeding.
Does it work with the hyphen?

Yes, breast feeding or breast-feeding are both acceptable, but breastfeeding isn't. The spell check also gets its panties in a twist over livingroom.

Neither is homeschooling. It's an evolving word usage I think.
