If you regret NOT vaccinating your child, post here

Hi -

I have been reading the other related thread about people's regrets of vaccinating and thought it would be interesting to see if there are any experiences in which people have regretted not vaccinating...... I'm hoping everyone is open to this thread and everyone feels comfortable posting, should they fit this category.

My own DD is 5 months and currently unvaxed, although I can't say I'm completely confident in my decision and she may end up partially vaxed - still in the research phase......

I don't regret not vaxing. I have three kids, two in daycare, one in public school, and don't lose any sleep over it at all. They've all been extremely healthy.

I am apparently on the wrong thread here, but if you had held a child in your arms that was convulsing and losing eye contact, and covered in a rash that looked like a picture out of a scare you into vaxing book. You would regret vaccinating too.

I will NEVER vaccinate one of my gifts again, that gift is already perfect.

So my next one... nope wont lose sleep over not vaxing that angel either. Not one... completely needle free

It will be interesting to see what comes up in this thread though...

You could say I had an "opportunity" to be upset at not having done a vaccine, but in the end, I didn't feel that way. We were on a long international trip to visit relatives (some of them we felt we would be seeing for the last time b/c of illness and age) and DD1 and DS got rotavirus. We got it confirmed and ended up having to cut our trip and our opportunity to see my children's great grandmother before she died. At the time I wondered if we could have avoided it all (the puking on the plane, the poop everywhere, the lost money, the lost opportunities) by having gotten the vaccine.

But then we had a thread here where someone posted about how the vaccine is the subject of two major studies that are to be released by the end of this year. These studies were undertaken to determine the possible, if any, dangers of the vaccine.

That just solidified in my mind that this vaccine is too new and too untested and erased any feelings of "what if" from my mind.

(we aren't nonvaxers btw; we do selective)

Is rotovius something that is regularly vaccinated against now? I hadn't heard of that. I have heard of many kids who get rotovirus, and known many. Messy, unpleasant buisness, must have been loads of fun on a plane!

I don't regret vaccinating my DS feel I have done my research, and am confortable with the calculated risk. Everything in life is risky these days, as parents guess we just choose which risks are worth taking for our particular family.

Although I have come to adore the mothering boards, I wonder if you will find anyone with a yes answear to your question as it does not seem to be in the general feeling of theese boards.

Good luck with your decision about you LO, hope you find the info you are looking for.

Yes, they just started again in 06? maybe. It was pulled off the market when it was introed in 2000 or whenever for bowel problems and they've had some of those problems again, but it hasn't been pulled.
