Friday postpartum - 9/5/08

I can't sleep. As if that's anything new. Today was great. Since I got the go ahead to start workingout, I flipped through my fitness magazines to put together a workout plan. After doing so, I decided to try on my little black dress I bought a year and half ago that I said I would lose to weight ot fit into. This was prior to my pregnancy. Well I tried it on to assess the damage andwould you believe that it fit perfectly! : I screamed and tried on everything little dress I had and they look great on me.I'm apparently smaller now than I was pre-pregnancy. I showed DP and even he was amazed. I can't wait to wear it out to dinner with my girlfriends in 3 weeks.

I guess that daily walking has been helping me out. Now, all I have to do is hit the crunches and do some lunges and I'm set. I'm craving oatmeal raisin cookies like it's nobody's business. I'm tempted to go out and get some.

No big plans for today. Just shopping at the local walmart and visiting my aunt and uncle. I plan tohit up her library for some books.

that's great Monique!!! I wish I can wear my pre-preggo jeans, not there yet but hopefully soon!

I can't wait to start running again... I think I am going to start this weekend, I've been craving a big sweat lately.

I've been eating pretty healthy but eating too much towards the end of the night which is NOT good: I need to work on that.

I am so tired right now, dh had to help me sleep the baby. Roberto Carlos doesn't want me to get him to sleep while I am in the couch or in the bed, he wants us to be in our feet, rocking him and patting him in the back! BUT HE IS SO HEAVY!!! I swear I thought I was going to cry, poor hubby needs to wake up really early in the morning but he felt the need of helping me because my back was about to give up....

Oh gosh, I've been snacking like a hungry hungry hippo I think my biggest problem is that I'm not used to being home, so when I am I eat. We have healthy foods on hand, but I eat so frequently... ugh. I only gained 13lbs and those are gone, but now I have to work like crazy to tone. Not that having my abdominal muscles cut a 3rd time helped :

Monique That's awesome about your clothes!!! I've been able to get into my fat clothes - maybe I'll brave some stretchy jeans today

robertandenith I'm itching to work out, but can't for another 3-4 weeks People ask me if I need anything and I say yes, a membership to the gym

Congrats on your new daughter! Love her name! Sorry your birth was so rough, ouch!

Monique- that's great that the dress is fitting! I haven't been brave enough to try on jeans yet. I think my thighs are too big...

Meredyth- I chubbed up since becoming a stay at home mom (2 yrs ago), it's dangerous to have easy access to food all day!

Well, I had the joy of taking my 4 yr old and Eleanor to the ped's today for check ups. DS just turned 4 yesterday, so he needed his annual lab work done and I wanted to make sure his tubes were still fitting right after all this drainage he had. He did great for the exam on him, but spent the rest of the time trying to excape the room! Ugh! I do not recommend taking 2 kiddos to the dr at the same time unless you have help!

I also found out that poor E's terrible face breakout is not a bad case of baby acne. It's an allergic reaction to something on her skin. It got really bad this past weekend at my mom's house and I am thinking it might of been the detergents she uses on her clothes (and I let her wash some of our clothes & E's while we were there) or it was from my sister's clothing- she smokes and her clothes reek. The dr said to wash all of our clothes/bedding in Free & Clear detergent (I have just been washing E's stuff in it) and no lotions (haven't used any) or soaps (I use a little Aveeno, but not on her face.) I feel awful about her face, it looks painful and people keep commenting on it.

Good news is that she is chubbing up, already 9 lbs 12 oz!

Hey ladies...

I'm doing well. I haven't even thought about my cloths, I've been wearing the same 2 dresses since Evelynn was born (17 days ago- ), I've been washing them with my bras because they seem to need washing every day. Consequently, I'm getting a lot more laundry done than I usually do.

I need to go get some shirts and pajamas that I can nurse in so I don't have to wear the same 2 dresses for the next 2 years. We'll see if I can get DH to spring for some new clothes.

I have no idea how much I weigh. I def. gained some belly flab, though. Whatever... it's really the farthest thing from my mind right now.

Baby is stirring and acting hungry even though she finished eating just a half hour ago. When will the constant feeding stop!?

meredyth that's a real need!

megsy, omg I am so sorry that happened during surgery... let me ask you, why do you think heart decels started? did you get pitocin? how far apart were your contrax when you got to the hospital? I am writing an article about pitocin and c-sections and will love to know your details if you don't mind...

well, Mr. Roberto is been sleeping all day after a tiring night last night, because I gave him my homemade gripe water before he fell sleep he is sleeping very good today. In fact, he slept 5 hours straight after he fell sleep @ 1 am. for a diaper change and feeding, then went right back to sleep til 12 noon! BABIES ARE WEIRD!!! I am so rested today, thankfully.

Getting ready for my daily load of laundry and a corn bread/coffee snack :

It will slow down, but your babe may never be a 3 hour feeder. Have you tried block nursing? (Nurse on one boob, then on that boob again)

, I have a glutton too, and a 18 mo ds that thinks he's died and gone to booby heaven!

This is Lydia too, will he let you wear him in a sling or pouch and rock standing up. Lydia will fight it at first, but will give in and then fall asleep in the pouch.

I forgot how much newborn eating/sleeping patterns can make you crazy

Rowan is a crazy eater too-I think he's hitting his 3-week spurt a little early. I swear he nursed all day. I seem to remember it getting a little less crazy around 6-8 weeks with my first-more "predictable", but I don't know how typical this is.

Sleepwise, we're going through a big change too. He does a big stretch from between 6-8 pm until about 2am-a wicked stretch of sleep (for him!). And then up every 2-3 hours to nurse, but back down quickly. The last two days he's been napping terribly (ie. not really for more than a few minutes, unless it's in the sling, carseat, or in arms). Before he would sleep anywhere, but now it's all in the sling/in arms (which is fine, but difficult with a jealous 3 year old around).

I've managed to do yoga twice this week-yay! And I'm walking more now that my bleeding is almost nil. Hoping to hit the gym next week. Eating wise, I'm doing well (except that a friend dropped off a big cake today, why why why!!! Cruel). I am desperate to fit into all my old clothes-not just the stretchy/fat ones. I got rid of all my mat. clothes to motivate me

megsy congrats!

Deborah hope you figure out what's causing the rash-poor baby!

i wish!!!! the only time I can get him to be in a sling is when he is sleeping or when he is hungry. He also hates the bouncer, the swing and the car seat

tonight was a better night, pheeeewwww! He fell sleep faster without the fuss.

I am so exhausted today and need to get up early to stock up on food and get ready for Ike.... sighssss beautiful sunny Florida....
