So tired! Makes me not look forward to labor anymore...

I am really tired lately so it makes me not look forward to labor anymore. I even went to bed early last night! But I was up a billion times to pee. I'm going to try to get some extra help with my toddler next week and the week after so I can try to get some extra rest in and reserve some energy for labor. The past couple of nights I felt so tired that I would not be happy if labor started. But today...I am already so tired I don't even want labor to start during the day! And labor is what I have been looking forward to this whole pregnancy as I had a great labor and delivery with DS so am really looking forward to my homebirth waterbirth! But...now I am just too tired to look forward to it.

I was JUST thinking the same thing. I was up all night with bathroom breaks, cramping, back pain, heartburn - just can't get comfy. I'm worried that I won't have any energy to labor.

Ladies...it is amazing how energized you get during labor. There obviously is some magical hormonal mix that will get you totally energized. So don't worry...you'll have it when you need it!! I'm right there with you though....very little sleep (this guy moves non-stop at night and he has NO ROOM!!), multiple bathroom breaks.

I have found myself saying a couple time "please let me take a nap if/when you're ready baby" . But I do know from a 36ish hr labor w/ DD -- keeping the end product (holding that baby soon) in mind, keeps you going with an unbelievable amount of strength and awakeness.... Oh, and the 2min naps in between the strong contractions feel like HOURS!!!!

You're probably right. I just have to keep remembering that with DS, I didn't sleep for pretty much 3 nights before I had him! I was in prodromal labor and it made my back achy and hurt my round ligament, which I had pulled the day before prodromal labor started. So DS was born on Monday morning. I didn't sleep basically at all on Friday night or Saturday night. Sunday morning I slept in my tub for a couple hours. And then Sunday night / early Monday morning I slept for about an hour and a half. So yes...I was majorly sleep deprived then but labor was still great and short and I was way energized after DS was born!

Have to keep remembering all that and knowing that it will all be okay!

I totally hear you. I was awake in bed for hours last night in a state of mild panic about being so exhausted, achy and stressed. I think if I get a few good solid nights in a row (even with the zillion peeing wakeups), I'll be in much better shape.

do anything you can to get help with your toddler so you can take some good naps! maybe even try to get someone to take the LO out of the house for a while so you can really release.

I'm always amazed how much better things seem after a couple good sleep sessions. let's all try to make that happen for ourselves!

I was thinking the same thing...until last night....i slept so good. I only got up once to potty and was abel to fall back to sleep quickly after that. And i didnt get up anymore. I'm normally up for a few hours every night and utterly exahusted in the morning. Today i'm feeling fairly good. Even had enough energy to sweep the kitchen floor...lol

I was thinking the same thing while walking home from the bus stop today. I wanted to call my husband and have him come pick me up and carry me home!
