There are a few:

Sarah Featherstone, ND - Peterborough - 603-924-6624

Gordy Thomson, MD, ND - Peterborough - 603-924-3644

Vincent Procita, Chiropractor, Applied Kinesiologist, Accupuncturist, - Peterborough - 603-924-3777

Bertram VonZabern, MD (Homeopathy - Steiner Philosophy) - Temple - 603-878-2248

I have personally worked with Drs. VonZabern and Dr Procita (he's a wizard of healing!) I've heard wonderful things about Drs. Featherstone and Thomson. Dr. Thomson rarely takes new patients though.

I hope that helps!

Not specifically naturopathic, but Dr. Oteti at Willowbend in Bedford is a DO and is VERY natural in her approach!

We love her, she is very friendly and accomodating and down to earth. I like her so much better than Dr. Thompson, especially since we can actually SEE her, rather than having to book an illness 10 months in advance

Good luck in your search!

Happy & Healthy in Salem NH. I love this office..they have family practioners and a naturopath (similar to Willowbend). We transferred from Willowbend b/c H&H is closer. Dr. Thomson was sooo hard to see.

Do any of these docs specialize in digestive issues? Both my kids have tricky digestive issues I need to get to the bottom of soon. Also, I want a doctor who is responsive when you ask questions. I don't want someone who never returns calls or emails.

I don't think that any of them are specialists, but I know for a fact that Dr. Oteri is responsive. When Ethan was born, I called on Friday morning for a newborn appt. She was leaving on vacation for 2 weeks and supposed to go early that day, but she called me back and got me in before she left so I wouldn't have to see anyone else!

And I called yesterday because Ethan is breathing labored and coughing a lot with phlegm. She immediately gave me some ideas on elevating him and then said that we would discuss using saline drops to help him..nothing about ratidine or any other drugs for GERD which the other dr immediately suggested with Lea...so I am exceptionally pleased!

I : her!

we havent seen the naturopath at Happy & Healthy yet but we have seen Dr. Tombly (family dr.) and she has been awesome. she consults w/ teh naturopath for us b/c we are using her due to insurance. she is very very responsive and actually saw my son and myself during a recent illness and didnt even charge us for the visit (we were in there just to have an rsv test and she came in, saw my son and then listened to my lungs b/c im carrying her future patient! ).

although i loved Dr. Thomson, i dont think i could be happier than w/ Happy & Healthy.

We saw an Osteopath for digestive issues with out little one-that the folks at Mass General in Boston couldn't solve...

We drove up all the way to Kennebunk, Maine to see Dr.Mulcahy.
http://southernmaineintegrativehealt...nformation.htm

He was very attentive, soft spoken (so to speak...) and never pushy. Always returned phonecalls, he is still building his practice- so we never had to wait long for an appointment. When I told them, that Mass General wanted my 11 months old son under General Anaestesia to get to the bottom of his gut issues- they told me to come the day after tomorrow.

He was of great help and I am propably going to return to him now that I need some help with my hormones.

He specializes in a lot of "chronic" conditions and "hard to figure out conditions" that school medicine doesn't know how to deal with, very patient-always was a 40 minutes drive, but well worth it.

If you don't mind me asking, what ended up being the problem with your son and what steps did Dr. Mulcahy take to uncover the problem?

ETA: How did you find Dr. M? Was he recommended by someone?

Hm, let's see. My son had a pretty "sluggish" colon all of a sudden. No poop for 19 days without being actually constipated with hard poop. Which was very weird because for months on end he would just pooppooppoop. I didn't mind when he was still exclusively nursing, I figured his body is just good at getting the max out of mommy's milk but it got to a point that it freaked ME out as well because he just did not seem comfy with that poo piling up inside of him. I can't even describe to you the amount that will come out after 2 weeks of not pooping.

He slept horrific, woke up every 15 to 20 minutes (around the clock, I looked like sh**, it was awful) and was obviously not happy, very irritable, whiny, cranky, nonstop-poop was never hard to pass and yet it was not coming out.

Dr.Mulcahy mainly looked at me trying to figure out what's going on, knowing that he was mainly breastfed and suspected heavy metals due to my heritage-east Germany with with quite a history of being completely over vaccinated and I still have plenty of amalgam in my teeth- one of this fillings came loose. Before I have a another child I will get those removed and will wait at least 6 months.
We did a combination treatment of physical osteopatic treatments (I remember escpially after one he finally nursed on the right side again after refusing for a while and also rolled over- seemed to have some kind of blockage) and some homeoepathic combination remedies. (unda numbers)
Oh, and a hefty dose of probiotics daily. Within a couple treatments he was pooping again.

There are a lot of ways of dealing with digestive issues and we also would have pursued more aggresive allergy testing but thanks to goodness the probiotics (cultured on human strains- not PIGs! made the difference for us) and the treatments helped.

Even if he wouldn't been able to help us resolve the issue(like Mass General didn't do diddly squat for us- just sending us home with formula and laxatives), he had an open way of thinking, trying to figure it out.
And he also is not shy about referring you to someone else if he thinks that might help you-I like that because I found it realistic.

I found him because somebody recommend a local Osteopath here in New Hampshire who is some kind of local legend- but unfortunately we would have had to wait several months for an appoinment and we did not have that time, it was just too urgent. The receptionist felt bad for us and recommend Dr. M. because she knew that he was once his Student and liked him.
I liked the fact that he takes on such chronic things like Lyme Disease that a regular MD hates to treat because it takes a level of patience and creativity that you just don't have at your local HMO.

Thanks for the info. Who was the legend in NH? Might call and see if they know anyone in Mass.

Yikes, sorry, I don't remember that at all.

But you could call Dr. M and ask if they can recommend you someone? Or post in the MA section of Finding you Tribe?
