Yahoo groups does not seem to like the word "breast"

I'm in a couple of Yahoo groups and it seems that every so often my calender events titled "Breastfeeding support group" seem to get deleted. All of the listings (because it repeats on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month)... the group admin claims she did/does not delete them and she has even re-posted them. Now my friend who has her own yahoo group for her family has also discovered that "breastfeeding support group" has been removed from her group calender as well... She has come to the hypothesis that Yahoo does not like the word "breast" and probably sees it as something sexual. We haven't found any way to contact yahoo to find out why our "Breastfeeding support group" keeps getting deleted off the calenders.

has anyone else noticed anything like this?

Have you tried emailing Yahoo and asking them?

That's strange. I'm in yahoo groups for both LLL and nursing mothers' council and neither one of them have problems with posts being deleted. I'd suggest contacting Yahoo!

I've encountered something similar w/ Yahoo! groups, thought not involving calendar entries.

My family uses a Yahoo! group to keep in touch. Between my avocation in breastfeeding support and advocacy, and a relative's professional research on breast cancer, the word "breast" does get mentioned pretty frequently in our e-mails to the group.

It didn't take long for Yahoo! to notice this, and suddenly we found that we all had to read a warning about "adult content" and check a box verifying that we are over the age of 18 to visit our group's page.

In honor of our completely inaccurate and hilarious identity as smut peddlers, we now often close our msgs to the group with the proclamation, "Breasts!" -- just to keep the joke going.

If anything was disappearing from our posts or other info, I'm sure it wouldn't be funny at all. I don't know how to fix the root problem (Yahoo! smut filters being set to tag "breast" as obscene), but in the meantime, have you considered abbreviating "breastfeeding" as "BFing" in your group's calendar entries? Just an idea.

Sorry, I didn't notice that it your OP. I've asked for help from customer support on Yahoo before. At the top of the group page there is a little link that says "help" I don't have a link to it, but here is this from yahoo.

What’s the best way to contact customer support?

We've done our best to create and categorize questions about using Groups to take a first stab at addressing Member, Moderator and Owner needs quickly. Since you’re here, you’re in the right place! Please take a look at the categories within Help to see if your support question has already gotten attention.

All help files ask "Was this information useful?" at the bottom of the page. Clicking Contact Customer Care takes you to a support request form. When you submit this form, you may receive an auto-reply that will contain information and suggestions for places to look for additional help.

If, at that point, you still haven’t received the information you need, reply to that email. Our Customer Care team will investigate, then contact you as soon as possible.

As the service continues to grow, we will explore additional support alternatives based on the needs of our users.
Here's the link. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/gro.../ideas-02.html

Sorry! I just thought you'd have better luck trying to find a way to contact yahoo then asking a group of people who have nothing to do with yahoo or how it's run.

Thanks for finding that, Belle!
