are your kids fans of PBS' "WordGirl"?

PBS' "WordGirl" is my dds (5 yo and 7 yo) favorite show: http://www.scholastic.com/wordgirl/

they want to be her for Halloween (not quite sure how to do the costume yet LOL) and laugh hard during the show

Any others fans out there?

My son (5) hasn't seen the show, but he plays some of the Word Girl games on pbskids.com. From what I've seen, it's pretty funny!

Yep. Just finished watching. Dd loves loves LOVES wordgirl : Talked about being her for halloween too.

Dd loves WordGirl, and I'm really not sure why, because I think it's a bit over her head yet.

Both of my sons love it (5 and 3). They also really like "Word World" and "Super Why". (Maybe it's because we just have bare-bones-basic cable (local channels only) and no Nick? )

Word Girl TOTALLY rocks! Whenever I clip my hair up, my 5 yo goes around calling me Grannie Mae all day and acting like I'm tying her up in yarn whenever I touch her.

My 7y/o dd loves WordGirl. I'm glad that I can let her watch something like that but it's not on Nick or whatever. Her new favorite is also Martha Speaks. She was counting down the days until it started

I love the fact that the 4, 7, and 9 year olds all like this show. There's not much they agree on anymore!

My children, age 11, 9 and almost 4 will all sit down to watch WordGirl....

We love the show.

Does anyone have a pattern for the WordGirl costume? My dd (8 next week) wants to be her for Halloween also we need Captain Huggyface for either dc 5 or 2.

If it were me, I'd do red tights/leotard. Add the gold star logo. Make a gold cape. Make a red hat. Add red gloves, and kneesocks/boots. And maybe have her carry around a dictionary...LOL

Captain HuggyFace... Monkey Mask. Red stretch pants. Blue leotard or long-sleeve shirt. Add gold thunderbolt. Gold cape. And maybe a bike helmut with some sort of antenna sticking out?
