Sadly, it isn't legal
There is a group trying to get it legalized though.....

Birchwood Dairy is in PA, but it's pretty close to NJ, depending on where in NJ you are... I'll give more info if you're interested. Their milk is very creamy and yellow!

http://www.gardenstaterawmilk.org/index.asp is the legalization group.

There are a couple of places in PA around the Delaware Water Gap, if that's close to you. One in Portland I know, one near Stroudsburg (where I get mine), and also I think there's someplace near Easton.

I've heard of places up in Ct, but I don't know specifics.

One of the farmers that comes to our farmers market has apple cider that is pasturized with UV light instead of boiling. It's a legal alternative that really is much better tasting for cider. I don't know if one could do it for milk.

You can get raw milk at the Greenwich Farmers' Market in Greenwich, CT, which isn't too terribly far from you. It comes from Beaver Brook Farm in Old Lyme. But if you go, get there early, because they run out fast!

Raw milk can transmit Lyme disease, if the cow is infected. It is extremely risky to drink raw milk from a cow in a Lyme endemic area such as New Jersey, and especially Old Lyme, CT. *shudder*
