RE/Fertility Clinic in the E. Bay/SF?

We're in Oakland, but I'm willing to travel a ways if any of you have had good experiences with an RE or fertility clinic in the area. We're at the point of giving up on our Kaiser RE and paying out of pocket for it, but I haven't had to look for a doctor.... well, ever.

Anybody have any recommendations?

Funny to see you over on this side of the forum. Are you able to transfer to SF Kaiser for RE care? I see the fertility specialist there and their office is nothing like your earlier description. I've been very happy with them so far - about 3 office visits, 1 IUI.

We went to UCSF & had a good experience. Our RE at UC also said Reproductive Sciences Center has a good reputation. I think they're in San Ramon. She said to stay away from Alta Bates. I've also heard people like PFC in San Francisco. Our RE left UC and went to Kaiser in Walnut Creek. Her name is Tracey Telles & she is outstanding. I don't know if you can transfer to Walnut Creek from Oakland Kaiser, but you may want to meet with her before you pay out of pocket. She got me PG with my twins.

Good luck!

We were patients of Dr. Lynn Westphal at the Stanford REI clinic. She was wonderful and we now have 3 beautiful children thanks to her help!
Good Luck

I LOVE RSC!!! The main offices are in San Ramon and I think somewhere in the South Bay, but the female RE I saw(I forget her name now, sorry)has an office in Orinda. She was really lovely, positive and helpful.

I had to pay out of pocket because my insurance didn't cover fertility treatments. I think the first visit was $250? And she spent over an hour with me and did a transvaginal ultrasound to check my ovaries and other things. (I have PCOS.)

I didn't know
at the time I went to see her, I was already pregnant but once I found out, they stuck with me because of repeat miscarriages prior. I was finally determined to have low progesterone and with supplements, was able to carry to term.

Now, I have suffered another MC and I am planning on going back for more help.

I hope you get the help you need. Please feel free to PM me for any reason at all.

Thank you, ladies! I knew someone had to have a recommendation.

It's good to know that Kaiser has some other good REs. I really hate to leave the one we're using now, particularly since Kaiser Oakland is just a mile from our house, and the doctor is great, but her staff is just killing me.

I meet with her tomorrow and I'll have a plan of action then.

Pasted from my thread in IF:
Thank you for all the support, ladies. I did sit down and talk to the RE this morning, and apparently the last two weeks the entire office has been in the toilet, and she knows it (essentially massive staffing problems, IT issues and the clinic they used shut it's doors with no warning). She has a list of complaints for the chief, and I made some suggestions that she liked and is going to share. I discussed transferring care to one of the other cities nearby, and she said that both of them have good teams, and that if we get as far as IVF she'd be sending me to one of them anyway. She was really pleasant about it, apologized, explained what had been going on, and made it clear that she at least is addressing the issues with her chief, so I feel much better about it.

She said that she'd be sending me to Tracey Telles in WC if we got to IVF, since she has the highest success rate of any RE in the area. She also said that both SF and WC had great REs, if I wanted to transfer care. She was completely open about what's been going on and completely understood my frustration. AND she was open to switching to whatever drugs I want to use, and proceeding however I wanted to. So for now I think I'll stick around, and see how it goes.
