Over 40 weeks, no baby

I am officially over 40 weeks today. I've been having pre-labor for over a week now, but I feel like I'm not even close at this point. It doesn't help I caught a cold so I am extra cranky. I was really hoping not to go over term again, but guess Peanut is cozy and wants to hang out a bit longer. Oh well, I can't stay pregnant forever!

nope you cant. and being sick, its better for you and your body to wait anyway. pump yourself up w/ Vit. C and echnicea and try to rest as much as possible.

i was a 41 weeker w/ ds3, so i know it can get a bit tiring.

all my babies that I've had have always been about a week late, so because of that I wouldn't be surprised if this one was too. I wonder if it's that my baby's just need to cook longer, or if it's that I've never had accurate dates? Until this one that is. I know for sure when I ovulated, and so have a very good idea of when I concieved, give a day or two. Funny thing is, that will put me at close to a week later then the docs 'due date'. So if baby comes around my guess date, I'll start to think that it's not that my other babies were late, they just had the wrong dates.

Take this time to rest as much as possible, get over your cold, and build up your energy stores for when baby say's it's time to make his/her entrance.

I'm right there with you! I was 40 weeks on Wednesday and am still here. No baby. No contractions. Nothing. Ugh.

I could have written your post gremco...though I am getting to the point where i think baby just might stay in there forever...

Sorry hon. I can't really relate - all my babes were born before their due date. I know those last weeks seem to take forever. I can't imagine going over my due date.

Yeah well all my babies came before my edd too- except this one. This is babe #3 and tomorrow is my edd. This is the longest I have ever been pregnant and I just want this babe out. I have never gone past my dues date but looks like I will this time I will. I am so whiny and done.

Don't worry... they come out when they're ready! All those pre-labor contractions will help the big day to be a bit easier, too.

to all you overdue mamas, DD was 4 days past her EDD and it drove me nuts, especially since her big brother came early. Hoping your little ones won't make you wait too much longer.

I am 40 +6 today. I was induced at 42 with DD1 and I am REALLY hoping I don't end up there again. So exhausted. I am trying to just enjoy this last bit of tome with DD as my only baby, but I am just so freakin tired!

I'm 40 weeks +5 today - been having irregular mild contractions for weeks, but nothing serious yet. I'm trying to stay patient - like you said, we can't stay pregnant forever :-) although it sure does feel like it's going to last forever sometimes.

My mother is leaving the country right at 42 weeks and I'll be so disappointed if she misses it.

My mom was 44 weeks with her first, and I was 42.5 weeks with DD. I'm not so surprised, but I was hoping not to go over at least! I've been having irregular, but strong, contractions for a few weeks now. I think my babies are just that comfy inside!

Gremco, I can't imagine it would be fun having a cold to drain your energy, yet needing all your energy for labor. Not that being overdue and hurting is much fun either.

I was late with DS and now with this one LOL. I only went 40+4 with him and had PROM. I am 40+4 via LMP and 40+2 via u/s. So, add me to the list.

My DS is sick and I'm taking collidial (sp?) silver and hoping for the best. I've been having contractions about 10 minutes apart today and spaced further yesterday. I am cramping back and front it seems most of the time. They kept waking me up from 3am-7am, which hasn't happened before. I'm assuming that this is just prodromal, but still hoping it isn't. : I got up 4 hours before I normally do and cleaned the whole house. Maybe there's something to this

I hope all us overdue mamas go soon!

I'll be 41 weeks tomorrow - and it definately has gotten to the point where it seems like it just may never happen. If this baby didn't move, I might wonder if it was a tumor.... But I guess it will come out when it is ready. My last came right on her due date, so this is new for me.

I'm only 39w 4d but feel sooo ready too mammas. I have been having quite regular contractions for about a week now; am a strechy 2cm or tight 3cm and still just a waiting DD was early, so really thought this one would be too. Guess lots of us do that -- but everyone really is different. Some babies just need that extra cooking time ( and : at the same time)

Add me to the list--I'm 40 + 2 today and no sign of anything at all. I will never have this baby, I'm sure.

DH, though, is convinced we're having a baby this week. I dunno . . . .
