The Coop operates using the model developed at the Sudbury [/URL]Valley School in Framingham, MA. The school is democratic - which means that everyone is respected and the kids get to pursue their own interests in an unstructured environment. In order to grow up, kids need to make their own structure - not function in an autocratically driven structure - and they need to be responsible for themselves. The FSC provides a setting where that can happen. The "curriculum" is participating in the democratic process (rule making, group planning, judicial process), and learning what you are driven to learn. There are no grades, no tests, and no homework.
