Washing Birth Pool - how? with what?

I need to wash the blow up pool I will use for labor/birth. Does anyone know how I should wash it? What I could/should use?

I just poured some peroxide in it and swirled it around a bit.

I would let it dry in the sun.

I mean washing it before I actually use it for labor. So it won't already be filled with water. And just putting it in the sun won't get out whatever is already in it from being packaged up.

I was following up with previous poster and thinking after I washed it out with peroxide or a light chlorine spray, rinse, then set it out in sun to sanitize and air out.

I'd go to Wal Mart or some store similar to that and get some hot tub or plastic pool sanitizer powder. It's inexpensive and is made specificially to kill organisms, etc.

Fill the pool and let the solution sit for a bit then use a wrag and make sure there isn't any debris left.

Then rinse thoroughly and let it sun dry.

what pool are you using? I just finished my research, and a bunch of them have the option of disposable liners. benefits of that are not having to wash the pool in advance, and also you have an extra layer or "container" in case of a leak...

I set up a la bassine for a friend recently -- I just sprayed and sponged the pool with a mild bleach/water/dr. bronners solution, then rinsed thoroughly and let it dry in the sun for several hours.
