If a toy comes with a bottle, we usually throw the bottle away, too. Sometimes, if it's a nicer bottle (the lid comes off, larger size, etc) I'll save them--they are great for drizzling melted chocolate on top of cookies, etc. I just repeat quite often "We don't use bottles to feed babies in this family!" I figure if brainwashing works so well the other way, it'll work to my advantage, too!

Well, I'm not sure about TX, but here in FL it wouldn't be a problem....FL Statute 383.015 says that, "A mother may breastfeed her baby in any location, public or private, where the mother is otherwise authorized to be, irrespective of whether the nipple of the mother's breast is uncovered during or incidental to the breastfeeding. "
So I'd just like to see a public school teacher dare to confront my dd about nursing her dolly....obviously she would be protected by this law!

LOL! Actually, we homeschool also, but it would almost be worth it to send her to public school just so she could be a lactivist!

(and since I had Google open, I noticed that young lactivists in Texas need not fear, either!

Texas Breastfeeding Law:
Quote:
§ 165.001. LEGISLATIVE FINDING. The legislature finds
that breast-feeding a baby is an important and basic act of nurture
that must be encouraged in the interests of maternal and child
health and family values. In compliance with the breast-feeding
promotion program established under the federal Child Nutrition Act
of 1966 (42 U.S.C. Section 1771 et seq.), the legislature
recognizes breast-feeding as the best method of infant nutrition.
§ 165.002. RIGHT TO BREAST-FEED. A mother is entitled
to breast-feed her baby in any location in which the mother is
authorized to be. |
