Maybe early labor...

Hey guys. Somethin is goin on with me... whatever it is... it's some form of early labor I think. But... really early... so don't get too excited! Started having some consistant semi-painful contractions at 8pm (pacific) and they've been about 15 mins or so apart. Now the more convincing thing is what the baby is doing. She's been a little punk for the last few months and hasn't had any interest in dropping. Well, she's dropping now. She's been crazily attacking my cervix... and putting all sorts of pressure on it. And, has been weighing on my bladder since the contrax started. I have to pee every 30 mins or less sometimes... it's driving me nuts! I'm trying to watch a movie with my mom but keep having to pause it to get up and pee. And, what's worse... my pelvis just shifted out of alignment. Somehow it's off on one side now and it won't work right to walk. So my mom has to help me over to the bathroom cus I can't get my right leg to work right! It's frustrating. I'm hoping it will shift some other way once I get further along into labor. At least I hope and pray it will! Oh, and the other thing... my pubic bones are hurting like mad. I think they're doing something... moving maybe? And i'm having more discharge... doesn't seem like the plug though. I don't know what it is. Whatever is going on... it's getting me closer to having baby... so i guess i'm happy about it! If those of you that pray could pray for my lower back/pelvis to shift into a better position, that would be wonderful. I am in some nice pain the way it is now. Thanks!

Well... nothing exciting is happening right now... and both me and my mom figure we should rest... should something start to happen tonight. Also hoping that sleeping will loosen up that pelvic area so that it can pop back into place. I'm tired of hobbling around like an old lady! lol. Talk to you guys in the morning or sometime in the early hours if something does happen.

Good luck! Sounds pretty much like my Tuesday and still no baby here but at least I know things are happening. Sending properly placed pelvis vibes!

Good luck! Will your chiro make house calls? Mine did and it made the difference - ds2 was out 10 minutes later!!!

Sending prayer to you so you can walk straight........and labor vibes too...

I hear ya on the hobbling, it gets so tough to walk when the baby drops down. I hope it turns into something real for you soon!

first congratulations on the progress. :
are you having trouble walking because of pain in the juncture between the front inner thigh and the pelvis or because of your low back?
the first one I can't help you with, i think it's just part of having your baby's head engaged--and I hear ya, I can't walk too well either and my baby is fully engaged at 0--squatting or semi squatting helps take away the pain though--not that it works for walking but i think you'll find that automatically...
if your back and hip are really out of alignment or if the baby feels like it's in the wrong spot try gettting on hands and knees with your legs apart and relaxing and moving your pelvis and each side of your pelvis up and down and see if you can shift things around and release your back...

and prayers that your body will be in proper alignment and stay strong that way for labor and delivery. Update us when you can!!

lol... that's exactly what I did! I don't know if it helped at the time... but oh well

Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes! My pelvis/low back feels sooo much better. I think it popped back into place at some point last night when I got up for a potty break. lol. I can walk again! haha.

Well, no more major progress at this point. Still getting some contractions... but they aren't any more painful than last night. My SPD is way worse though... my pubic bones are killing me and I have to be really careful with how I move my legs now. It was really hard to get out of bed last night for potty breaks. Ugh. Probably all just a process of baby engaging.... which is good. I still can't breathe any better though. Where's this fresh breath of air I was promised huh? lol.

hmm... contractions are picking up again... but I haven't been timing them... so i'm not sure how far apart they are. They're a little crampy... but not really painful. They seem kinda close together... so we'll see. I'll time them a little and let you guys know.

eh... they seem to be at random times... no super consistancy to them. I mean... a couple were only a few minutes apart... and now i just had ones that were 24 minutes apart... so who knows? I can tell you that they're LONG contractions. Talked to the midwife about them being long at my last appointment and she said it was normal... so i guess it is.

I hear ya! Sounds like me almost every other day....some days are good...some days are really bad (like today) since baby dropped around 36 weeks. At this point, I am dragging my feet because it hurts to much on my pelvis to lift my legs to walk, sleeping has gone out the window, and I can feel her head press down and bounce up with each step I take. The nausea has returned for the past week, and I am just hoping at this point they tell me tomorrow that labor is iminent! I was dilated to 3 cm 2 weeks ago...so I am hoping for at least 4-5 by tomorrow...lol...I don't see how I can do this for another two weeks...

Gosh, it's frustrating, huh? I'm doing the same thing. I know that it can go from prodromal to active in the drop of a hat, but gosh, this is driving me nuts!

It's bound to stick eventually .

Hey funfunkyfantastic, how are you doing?

Well... still having contractions semi regularly. Went to a diaper circle and mostly ignored them through the whole thing. Had a few that felt like period cramps though. Then we had to go grocery shopping... and as always it wore me out... and I was riding on a cart!!! Got all the stuff we need food wise. And towards the end of shopping the contrax got a little more painful and I got a little more tired. So now i'm gonna relax while mom makes dinner for us.

Hey umm... just wondering... but do your contractions make you breathless even though they aren't really painful? I feel like they suck the air out of my lungs every time I have one. Its easy to know when a contraction is cus I can suddenly breathe less easily and sometimes even start coughing. Is this normal? Just wondering...

Oh yes! It's weird! I'm glad I'm not the only one who is going through that! My BH contractions do make me breathless - especially at night when I'm lying on my left side. I do occasionally start coughing but it's less of a common occurrence.
10 days away till my official due date! Goodness, I hope she's on time but will most likely be late!

Contractions have fizzled out over the last few hours... so I guess no baby tonight. *sigh* Well... maybe i'll get some more tomorrow. At least we're making some progress here!

Wow, I thought i was the only one to have BH that made me feel breathless. Its a very strange feeling. I was having them very consistently last night one right on top of the other for about and hour. They were actually slightly painful too. Hopefully this means our bodies are doing some of the work ahead of time! Belly Blessings!

Yeah... i'm pretty sure it's been doing something. I'm not concerned though. If I do my whole labor in shifts... that's fine with me. I'll get more sleep that way! lol. I think there was another lady in here who had a labor that was off and on for days before she had her lo. Sounds just fine to me. I like the idea of breaks! lol. I had a nice sleep last night (despite having to pee a million times) and feel nice and rested now. I guess i'm ready for my next shift... lol. We'll see when it begins.
