Wowzers ladies!: You all are so inspiring to me- what with the cleaning, all the preparing of meals to be frozen, having all the gear ready to go and washing of the baby stuff...I need to step it up.
I need this due date club to keep me from procrastinating.

Crunchydoula and Cat: I got the idea to move my due date way up from the BRU phone support lady actually. I was on the phone asking a few questions and mentioned to her I wished I could get the coupon sooner and she said she could move the due date for me. I am glad I did it too b/c I have heard from many ladies that BRU is notorious for sending them really late.
As it is, mine was changed to August 29th and you are supposed to get them 2 weeks before and I still don't have mine. I called and hassled them a bit yesterday so hopefully it will roll up real soon.

Tara: wow- your baby shower loot sounds amazing! I also got 3 blankets that were handmade and embroidered and to me they are extra special.

Today, I went by this lactation specialty place in Hollywood that everyone raves about and got their lactation support group schedule and will also be going back for a CPR class there as well.
The ladies there were so helpful, gave me baby carrier demos (I liked the Ergo with infant insert and one of the ring slings).
I bought a super buttery, soft black short maternity robe made of airy modal that I will wear for labor. Its perfect and just what I have been looking for.
Sleeves widen out a bit like a kimono and it goes to the knee. Its completely open down the front with only an empire waistline sash that ties in front so its also as modest as I like it to be as it closes and covers all my bits but will open fully to lay a baby on my chest and can be lifted up.
I also bought some darling Anais + Aden muslin swaddle blankets that these mamas I met swore by. Can be used to swaddle, cover a stroller, for breastfeeding and are so cute, soft and light.
Hope everyone is well...I am gonna wish for sleep tonight. Last night I only got 3 hours due to worry, heart burn and feeling breathless.

It's so neat to hear what everyone is doing these days, as we get closer and closer.

I had a LO torturing my right rib cage all day yesterday and awoke to it again this morning. Hopefully I can get through my long-awaited pedicure today in relative comfort and relaxation instead of with the chorus of expletives in my head every time it feels like he will be moving a rib out of the way for his personal comfort-- goodness!

I have my MW today and I'm hoping all of my iron-rich snacks and Floradix torture regime have been worth it.

Oh and I lied to my DH last night about working out on the treadmill. Between no sleep and the rib tweaking I needed a nap!

I was so impressed w/all the multi-quoting that I really had to up my game! My turn!

Hope you find a solution that works. We are in the process of moving our kitties' litter box upstairs and are hoping they are okay with it. I'm not really looking forward to finding poop or pee in what will be the baby's closet.

I think my fave gift was a super soft white blanket with white satin trim that DH's employees had embroidered with "The Hufflette" in Mizzou colors (Black and Gold). It's super cute and totally creative/personal. The only thing we don't have now that we really do need is the carseat. I have 2, 20% off coupons so I'm hoping I can talk DH into just buying it ourselves when we buy the crib mattress. He's not worried about having it though since we have the infant seat which I guess is true....I just really want and feel like we need the Britax convertable! Also, DH's parents came by our house last night after the party to bring our cradle! SOOOOO gorgeous. DH's Grandpa made it for him when he was born. This is the Grandpa that this LO will be named after (Alexander/Alexandra). It looks so sweet next to my side of the bed. :
Nice haul! Glad you had fun too!

That's amazing! Wow - I can't even reach my cervix so just the fact that you can get in there is amazing to me. But feeling the foot? That's unreal! Good luck!

Thanks for this idea - I just went and changed my due date to 9/15. Haha. Hope that works. I need my pump, damnit!

That's too funny - secrets safe with us!

AAM - I over-nested yesterday, haha! My first day of mat leave and I did 3 loads of laundry (including receiving blankets and newborn onesies - so cute and soft now!), scoured the bathroom spotless, cleaned up the living room, ran out to Kohl's (which was a total bust), ran out to Wegmans (food store), and then came home and made dinner. My back was killing me, needless to say. I actually took tylenol, which I haven't done in ages b/c the pain was so bad.

Baby must have dropped b/c I can breathe and eat like I used to, but am waddling a little more than I was! I also always feel like I need to pee, but only a little comes out. So weird (and annoying when it happens 3 times a night).

Oh - last night the baby was keeping me awake with her thrashing around and poking. I came out and sat on the couch b/c sleep was just not an option, and watched the belly for awhile. SO NEAT to see little appendages sweep across the front of my belly! I think it was arms/hands. As tired as I was, I was just amazed an in awe of this little life inside of me. I can't wait to meet her!

I have so much to do today, wish me luck on getting it all done!

Wow, everyone has been busy!! I still need to freeze some meals..ugh...maybe when my mom gets here (tomorrow) she can help me in that area. I just don't feel like it. I slept really well last night....YEAH! My appt. was good yesterday as well. Baby is low (yeah i knew that), has his head right in there. I think he even dropped more today. I feel sooooo much pressure now when I'm trying to walk around. I have a ton to clean today or in other words, get ready for the parental visit type cleaning. I just have to do it in "spurts". 15 min. on, and then 15 min. off...lol! That's it for me!

I should so do that! I had always had the fear that I'm going to soak my bed with my water breaking...that would be a bummer!! Good thinking

Aww...how fun!! I still sort of wish we were going to CD from the beginning, but I really think I'm doing the right thing for my sanity by waiting a couple months till I can get in the swing of things with two kiddos.

But now I can work on the baby's blanket. I need to wash the cotton backing first though so I have to wait to do a load of laundry....I'll probably get to it tomorrow and hopefully have the blanket done by the end of the week.
I want to make my own diapers too, but I'm intimidated and have let it stop me. I'm sure if I just tried I could do it, but it isn't going to happen Good Luck with the blanket, I need to finish knitting Christopher's too!

When I was 20 weeks I thought it would be a good idea to get a P/T job for a little extra spending money and I picked BRU, it was horrible!! Anyways, that is how I know that you can add what ever you want to your registry and change dates and so on. They really are pretty clueless there. lol!

Oh and I so want some Anais + Aden blankets!! They are wonderful!

I'm am very ready to drop. Lailah never did since I was induced at 35 weeks, so we'll see what happens today. Sorry to hear you didn't get much sleep that really stinks! I've weirdly been sleeping really well, once I actually fall asleep, I haven't even been waking to pee, which is great!!!!

I need to freeze meals too. I have enough to make my pot pies and I need to find something to do with my 2 whole chickens. I think I'm going to pick up some pre-frozen lasagnas too, it will be easier

Good Luck cleaning today!!

Good Morning Ladies!!

How is everyone feeling today? I'm ready to clean and organize all day

Today started a little abruptly to to say the least! We were awoken to our very rude neighbors dogs barking insistently this morning, at 7:15am!! We are in an apartment and they have very strict noise curfews, but they don't care one bit. We have only been here 1 month and have had tons of problems with them!! They also seem to think it is acceptable to blare their music and play drums when they are on the second floor of a three story building. They have already recieved two noise notices and two more for the drums...and the noise just keeps getting worse...so I'm on my last nerve today with them!! Sorry...went off on a tangent

Anyways, I was up early and I feel very productive already! I unloaded the dryer and started a load of laundry, I unloaded the dish washer and loaded it with the little dishes that were out, I made my bed, made my DH lunch and coffee!! This is great for me, because I'm usually a zombie in the mornings, lol!! Now I just need to fold the load that came out of the dryer and I want to get in and clean my dd's room (again!), wipe down my bathroom, sweep and mop the kitchen and get my dd's old clothing and such on craigslist (anybody want 3 hotslings ). Then I might be able to relax...probably not though. Oh and I need to pack my bag for the BC and finish up my sewing that I keep procrastinating!!

Okay, that was long winded, sorry! Hope you all have a great day!

I presume you didn't make the stupid mistake I did - what did I find when pulling my fluffy diapers out of the dryer? That's right, a left over dryer sheet. : I hoping that the fact that I still have several washes to go, not to mention it was a used sheet and only half of one at that, means I haven't already given myself repelling problems. Sigh.

Ooooh! Want. Don't care if I start waddling. I miss breathing.

I haven't done a darn thing freezing meals-wise. I really should start. And yeah, I'm all about the frozen lasagnas too! So yummy. :

I was hating not being able to eat a full meal... baby dropped and all the sudden, I could eat again but waddled around with my crotch hurting. Somehow he un-dropped and now I feel like I'm suffocating, my crotch doesn't hurt and I can still eat normally. Weird.

Oh no! You could always just throw a cup of vinegar in (with an extra cold rinse) to strip them, but I'm sure you will be ok. Considering the dryer sheet was used already, maybe you're ok? That stinks!!

Am I the only one not freezing any meals? Chris is the cook in our family, and we only have a tiny bottom freezer in our fridge. It barely holds our ice cube trays and frozen veggies, lol! Even if I wanted to store anything I wouldn't be able to. I'm just going to rely on Chris to keep me well-fed for awhile after LO comes.

I'm so proud of myself b/c I called a pediatrician today for a prenatal visit! $77, though?!? Geez. Well, lets hope she works out and it's worth the time and money. She was recommended by my midwife, so fingers crossed.

Oooh, the vinegar is a good idea. Some people use that all the time when they wash diapers, don't they?

And gee, if my husband could cook I wouldn't worry about freezing dinners either! Good for you!

Wait. Is the $77 for an interview? I thought they usually did those free of charge. If not, then that's only gonna make me procrastinate even more on finding someone!

I used to use vinegar in every wash cycle with borax.

Most peds do not charge for an interview, but some do.

What questions do you ask the pediatrician? I dragged my feet with my dd too and was just about to find one, when I was induced...lol! So I haven't had to do it yet as we don't have a regular dr. for her either.

I know I want somebody who is good with no vax/select vax and no circ. Any thoughts?

My DH cooks too so I've just got about 10 meals and DH will cook up some stuff the rest of the days. We already have 2 DC and this will be our 3rd so I need to give him a break somewhat....(rather give myself a break while I can still cook without stress.)

With prefolds you can use vinegar in each wash but you don't want to use it in every wash when you are washing items with elastic. It will degrade the elastic before it's time.
i have NEVER paid a dr. for an interview. thats just crazy IMHO.

i use vinegar for every diaper wash (i put vinegar in a downy ball for the first full wash, along w/ baking soda (in the first rinse).

Q's for pediatricians:

i think there is a list somewhere here but this is my list of Q's:

1. are you non vax family friendly? i dont want to argue or be pressured and i do my own research. most dr's know very very little about vaccinations and i dont look to them for education so i want to make sure they are friendly to our position and can trust us to research teh issues.

2. are you bf'ing friendly? i do not want to have formula pushed. i also dont want to go to an office that has formula posters (yes, some do).

3. do you accept famiiles that are more prone to alternative/natural healing vs. antibiotics, etc. etc. THis is very important to me. We dont use antibiotics unless its a very very extreme situation. We also try to avoid a lot of chemicals that are in things that alot of dr's recommend.

4. do you believe in chiro. care for babies/kids? we see a chiro. for many things and feel that chiro. care keeps us healthier than "regular" dr's for most things.

5. how long is your wait time?

6. what is your on call time?

7. what hospital(s) are you affiliated w/?

8. what happens if you are not on call and we end up in the hospital? how long can we expect it to be before seeing you?

9. do you work w/ like minded partners?

10. how long does it usually take to get in to see you?

11. are you near patient capacity?

12. i dont usually ask Q's re: cosleeping, GD, etc. etc. but i do try to get a feel for how they react IRT to those issues. i do NOT want to discuss sleep or discipline w/ my dr. unless they understand that i am coming from a cosleeping (extended), GD/PD perspective. We dont do time outs or other rewards and punishments and i dont want to hear that espoused by our dr. If that makes sense.

having said all this, it probably sounds like i dont like drs. We actually just changed my ds3's dr. and i absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE her. She is incredible. When we went in last week, she checked MY lungs too! lol! She gave ds3 a prescription for antbx. to be used "at my discretion" b/c his ear was a bit red. Its cleared up w/ a natural treatment and i didnt use the Rx but it was nice that she understood i may not use it. she just didnt want us to have to drive back over. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her.

sorry for the long winded reply.

I use vinegar in every load of clothes I wash (disinfects and helps with static without using yucky dryer sheets). With diapers I usually use borax and vinegar, too.

Yep - for some reason a consultation/interview isn't covered by insurance! What a load of crap.

Same here - I'm basically going to ask the questions PW posted!

PW - Wow, what an extensive and great question list! I'm going to make a note of those. I'm going by myself w/o DH so I'm going to want to be prepared. Those are precisely my concerns with a doctor. I don't want someone pushing formula on me at the first sign of trouble, and I definitely don't want to constantly remind her of/defend my position on selective/delayed vax.

On a completely unrelated note, why, when my house is messy, is EVERYTHING on the floor? I'm so beat! My back is killing me! I'm finding that I get down on the floor, throw things up on a higher surface, and then get up and sort through it! I just can't keep bending over!! It sucks!!

There is a reason I go barefoot at home (and will continue to do so until it gets too cold). Bending over is HIGHLY overrated, but I'm pretty darn good at picking up not-too-big objects with my toes.

Oh my gosh y'all, my carseat just got delivered! : I'd try it in the car, but right now the backseat is covered in dog fur and I'd rather not get it all over me and my new seat. Still, this is exciting! And a little scary. I mean, holy heck, soon I'm going to have a little bitty PERSON in that seat. That I'm responsible for. I'm not sure this is a good idea. Yikes!
