My best friend and I started a business last year. It's a rental style place (think baby shower, wedding receptions..). We have been wanting to start one for some time and we found the best building on Main in street in our little town. We have been able to make the rent and monthly costs out of our owns pockets so far. We owe nothing on the business.
There has been no business! It's been really sad. Well this month our insurance is up for renewal. We have to pay a big chunk up front. So we made the decision. We are closing down

It's time...but so sad. The main thing is that we tried. We made it work for 14 months. We know for sure that we did our best. In 10 years I can say we tried instead of I wish we had.

It sucks to close a business. The business I had started with a friend was just begining to go somewhere when I got put on bedrest with DS. My partner wasn't able to keep it going without me so we had to close it.
It takes guts and heart to build something, and guts and brains to close down when the time comes. Wise mama.
