We had my son's second birthday party today. His birthday was actually two weeks ago, but with the start of school and labor day weekend - we decided to have it this weekend. He had so much fun. He was all smiles all day. Unfortunately, I had to sing in choir today in both services (and I had a solo, so I couldn't cut out early!), so I had a shorter time period to get everything ready. It worked out okay though. I think the kids had a fun time. It was a very laid back party. Now - I have to plan my daughter's ninth party in two weeks! I'm kind of glad this one's going to be born in May.

What's up with ya'll?

I volunteered in the church nursery this morning and I got to work with the 0-1 year olds. It kind of cemented this whole thing for me. And while I was in there dh walked in the childrens dome and smiled at me so that made me happy! I cleaned our room after we got home and made nachos with home-made guacomole and grilled chicken. Dh went back to work with DD at 5 so I could relax. They should be getting home soon.

Glad your ds had a good party!

Happy Birthday to your kiddos!

I'm sad that the weekend is over, and its back to the grind (aka keeping my toddler busy while I lay on the couch with nausea) My DH works in the basement so its really hard to keep my kiddo from wanting to run down there every 5 minutes and talk to daddy!

I am the schedule coordinator for my local LLL meetings and I HAVE to get the schedule out tomorrow. Just a reminder for myself when I read this tomorrow!!

AND I just ate a bowl of Lucky Charms. Thats whats up with me!

I worked today until 6pm. (I telecommute from home full-time) I just got done doing some homework that is due by midnight tonight. Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow! Oh, and I totally dominated my fantasy football league this week! Other than that, I'm trying to keep my mouth shut about this pg until I have my u/s on Wed & hopefully will see something that puts me at ease. I was thisclose to telling my mom on the phone today.

Bday parties are fun! Well, the planning is and then I'm usually stressed & annoyed the day of.

When I was pg the first time, I felt nervous around babies for some reason. LOL Now, I can't help but beam when I see them out & about.

Happy b-day, ColoradoMama's DS!

Late last night we got in from NY, we got news that my grandmother passed away on Thursday afternoon and flew to NY on Friday morning. The airline ending up damaging our carseat (a Radian 80) so we got DS a Britax Marathon today and I have to say that I LOVE it, by far my favorite carseat.

Today we did some grocery shopping and got everything together for DS's birthday tomorrow. We're keeping it small since we just moved here and don't have family in the area, I like not having to plan anything big though. It seems like just yesterday that he was born and now he's my big toddler :

I cannot believe I'm going to have 2 children. It still hasn't totally sunk in yet.

I cleaned our room today - and holy dustbunnies batman. Tried to take 5 wks belly pictures, but ended up in tears because they don't look like "before" pictures so much as 6 mos along pics - oh well. Then took the dog for a nice long walk. Came home and DP made burgers for dinner and we played a game of scrabble.

I totally feel your pain! I look the same now as I did when I was about 3 months along with E, and I thought I looked huge then! Oops. Oh well. What can I do?

Not much happened for me today. Got to sleep in while DP took E for his first toddler gymnastics class. Then she had to go to work and E and I just vegged around the house. Made sweet potato and lentil curry for supper and watched some football. Pretty relaxing, all in all.

I'm glad the party went well ColoradoMama.

I'm sorry about your grandmother KatieJD.

We bought a car last week, so we have to get all the registration and stuff finalized.

I'm calling my midwife this morning. I am so excited. My midwife who was there for my first two births is not working right now, so that is really sad, but my other midwife from my second birth is still working, thank goodness.

we went to our local flea market yesterday. while we were there, we found a copy of that old nova documentary, "the miracle of life", on vhs for $1. we came home & watched that, which was fun. then, i took a several hour nap in the afternoon...i just can't get enough sleep! dh then bbq'ed for us...salmon for me, chicken for him. yesterday was a good day.

ugh, monday! monday mornings are the main reason i can't wait to be a SAHM.

Thanks for all the good wishes for my little one. He had a lot of fun at his party. Right now he's crashed out on my lap!

Happy birthday to your son KatieJD! I hope he had a great day. I'm so sorry about your grandmother.

Thanks, ColoradoMama! He had a lot of fun eating his cupcakes and checking out his new gifts, it was a fun day for all.

I've emailed two midwives in the area and am just waiting to hear back. They both come highly regarded on MDC and practice similarly so it's going to be hard for me to choose I think. I'm feeling really independent with this pregnancy and may even consider UC when the time comes, I did centering appointments with my son so I was really in charge of my care then anyway.

the_lissa - What kind of car did you get? We're looking at new cars even though we just bought a new one a few months ago, it's a Scion xD but really not big enough for two kids.

Our fridge died today, landlord is being slow about getting us a new one, meaning all our food spoiled including 5 full meals (we cook and store ahead sometimes) All of this means that I did not get to eat today until 10pm! I'm surprised people weren't injured from my crankiness. Other than that the day was mellow. =)

My sons Birthday Party is this Saturday! - It also happens to be my birthday that day! hehe...
We are doing a Mickey Mouse theme!...I am so excited!
For his actual birthday - which is the Friday after that, we will go out to eat and then we take him to the build a bear workshop and he picks out a bear (put a heart in it with a wish, stuff it, name it, cloth it, etc hehe). Its sort of our birthday 'tradition' for him! hehe

I am still in the '''yay!!! we did it!!!'''...phase of pregnancy lol. I guess technically this baby is only 13 days old right now! ... But you know, they give you 2 weeks free so im going on 4 weeks pregnant! lol

Loving my pregnancy avatar I put in my blog in my sig!

Hi Mamas,
I'm sorry for your loss Katie.
Happy birthday to all the kiddos! My son's party is this Sunday (which is also his actual birthday-2 years old). My mom will be coming which is great because she hasn't seen him since he was 9 mos old. She lives in CA and I live in MA and she doesn't fly. So she is taking the train.

Sorry about your fridge CAUCmama- but now you'll get a nice new fridge!

I have an appointment today with the midwife. By pure coincidence it was already scheduled (was supposed to be my annual exam). I know they will do blood work but beyond that I'm not sure what she'll do...I don't want to have a pap this early.

Katie- We are looking at a new car too. I have a leased Golf and its up this May so we're going to do something bigger for 2 kids. I was checking out one of those Scions the other day. They are pretty sweet looking! But too bad they aren't big enough. We are trying to find something big enough but not a gas guzzler. And my DH prefers VW's. Maybe a Passat Wagon.

Aine- That sucks about your food! I would be soooo mad!!

Ann- build a bear sounds really fun. Hope you and Duncan have a wonderful b-day!

Lotus.blossom - The xB is slightly bigger than the xD, I would love one of those because I just all around love the Scion but DH hates the way it looks. I know I'd be able to win out on him but I'd rather we keep looking first and try to find something he likes. I drove a Hyundai Tucson while in NY and I really liked that but it also gets poor gas mileage. The Ford Escape Hybrid gets good gas mileage but is so pricey.

***Just checked out the Mazda 5, better gas mileage and lots more roomy, you may want to check it out as well.

Just want to say that my [very kind] coworker occasionally eats microwave-steamed frozen brussels sprouts. This could be a problem later. Once she finds out I'm pregnant, I think she'll be sympathetic.

I can't handle brussel sprouts cooking when I'm not pregnant...

Had a hard time getting up for work today. I'm just so, so tired. Which is reassuring, I'm just so, so tired.

Waiting for the delivery guy to come with the new washer and dryer ( : ), but he didn't leave a time, grrrrrr. So happy now we made sure that we found one with an appropriate cycle for the cloth diapers

DH is flying today, so I probably won't see him until tomorrow. I hate the last-minute bugouts.

mmm...actually those sprouts are sounding really good right now...

yay for your new washer & dryer, haze!! i hope we are able to get a washer before the babe is born. it will make CD'ing so much easier if i don't have to use the community laundry room.
