True Blood - Page 2

Yes, there is more to grandma's story.

You haven't met Eric yet - he owns a vampire bar in Shreveport called Fangtasia.

I don't remember who Eric is. Have we met him? His dad, Stellen SkarsgĂĄrd, is pretty good looking.
1) Yes.

2) Eric is the Sheriff of Area 5, which means that he's the head honcho among the vampires in that part of Louisiana. Specifically, it means that he's Bill's boss. He should turn up in another episode or two.

I haven't read the books... so my opinion is indubitably going to differ from those who have! TV/movies never can quite live up to the books.

I like the show. I like how the relationship between Sookie and Bill has been portrayed, and I didn't find him creepy... though his hair looks awfully greasy, blech. I found him charming and old fashioned. But maybe my romantic imagination is making the best of it.

The actress playing Tara gets on my nerves, too.

Interesting spoilers... I wouldn't've guessed there was so much more going on than was shown already.

Well enjoy the show, I deleted my season pass for it. It just ended up turning me off.

ooh just found this. subbing. We've watched most episodes and are really getting hooked. It's not as "good" as Sopranos or Six Feet Under, but is strangely addictive, lol.

Haven't read the books at all.

It's fun enough, but I wouldn't watch it except that dh likes it. I think it's the nekkid women and the sex.

Oh, my word, Jason was an idiot. He downed the whole vile.

Now this episode had some of the wicked black humor Alan Ball is famous for! The whole Jason story arc was a hoot. Some of the scenes in the Fangtasia...and that poster of Bush and Lady Liberty behind the bar!

I actually really like Anna Paquin. Her accent is odd but she always talks that way. She was in The Piano years ago. The blonde hair looked over processed in the first episode but I think they've added some lowlights so it looks more natural.

I like the series so far. Six Feet Under was my favorite series of all time.

The books are my all time favorite series, I cant get enough of them. Im still withholding final judgement on the series. I was psyched for it then disapointed with the first episode. I just think sookie is played too calm then yet suddently in your face. I dunno. however, I actually really am enjoying the character expansion with jason and tara. (in the books, tara basically only turns up when sookie needs something from her). I really, really like tara, she's a hoot! And I liked the way this last episode gave a reason for her jason obsession (flash back to thier shared childhood)

How horrible am I that I didn't even know they were books.

So far I like it but not like LOVE it. I want to know what is up with Sookie (love that name, BTW) and being "not human". I too think there is more to her grandmother. I kind of get the "older than she appears" vibe.

The bartender is HOT! Too bad he's psycho.

Crap! I totally shouldn't have read the first page of this thread because now I have to get the books. :

Thoughts on the dog hanging around...

Warning :: Spoiler Ahead! Highlight to read message!
DH and I think that Sam is shapeshifting into the dog that follows Sookie around. DH came up with the idea initially, and I said that it should be Sam if anyone. I also recalled tonight the oddity of him barking and growling in his sleep when Tara slept with him that night.

Guess we'll see if we're right.

Anglyn you just saved my life! I totally thought the book series was called "True Blood" as well and was going to by the True series which looked like a supermarket romance novel. That explains why for the life of me I couldn't find all the other books in the series.

Poor Bill! He was finally on his way home to his wife and children and that horrible b!tch got him! I felt so sad for him.

I thought for sure that

Sam was the dog, but maybe Sam possesses the dog so he can go out and see through the dog's eyes. Did anyone notice the picture in his office of a collie-type of dog standing guard over a sleeping little blonde girl?

Ah, crap. I'd forgotten about that part.

Hmmm, perhaps a familiar?

It's fun to speculate, and this is WHY I haven't read the books yet. I will, but I'm enjoying the surprises of the tv program for the time being.

Yes! I do recall seeing that and thinking at the time that was deliberate, but I'd forgotten about it until you mentioned it here.

I presumed it was Suki largely because of the old Steppenwolf song "Sookie, Sookie" pronounced it that way.
