Acrylic yarn is so...uh, YUCKY!!

OMG, I tried knitting with some of it, and I totally hated how it felt on my skin, and how hard it was to work with! I got a bunch from Freecycle, and now I don't know what to do with it all! What should I do with it?

Re-Freecycle it.

i like some acrylics but not others. baby acrylics are nice and soft but cheap acrylics are nasty.

Or you could make things to donate with it. It's definitely easy care. *shrug* I know in my area there's a few different groups that make things to donate... I'd probably donate it to them.

I agree, though, that there are some acrylics that are reasonable to work with (especially if it's an acrylic-natural fiber mix), and some are HORRIBLE

Plymouth isn't so bad. I find the cheaper brands to be difficult to deal with.

Can you make toys?

I like to use them for those cheapo quick knit slippers. I don't want to spend a ton on something that's just gonna be rubbing all over the dirty floor anyway and acrylic at least holds up well with lots of washing. I can take that nasty acrylic off your hands for you!

I have a TON of Red Heart Super saver. It was all I used before I discovered actual nice yarn. I use mine now for doll/bear clothes, bags, humane society blankets, and dog clothes.
