What is the state of cloth-diapering stores? Anyone recommend or not recommend starting one (either on-line or IRL)?

I don't have any real facts, just opinions from being a cloth diaper user.
I think that the market is saturated on line.
If you opened a brick & mortar store, the success would really depend on the area you live in, the population, etc. Is it a progressive area? What other things besides cloth diapers would you sell? I don't think a strictly cloth diaper store would really be able to survive without selling some other items also.

I tend to agree - tons of cloth diapering stores online and I often hear of problems with businesses not making much money.
A brick and mortar would probaly do well, but like the pp said only if it's in a progressive area.
You might want to start small - see if you can get a small table at a health food store or midwife office/birth center with a few samples, catalogs, order forms.
you could also do in home shopping appts (either your home or your customer) or even do the whole party thing based on your own rewards system. This would only work well if you had a nice selection of stuff though.

I do have a cloth diapering category. I just started to add my cloth diapering products, so, it's hard for me to tell you how profitable it is. My best friend just had her baby daughter. She's totally into cloth diapering and recommended that I carry all the products that she has bought. She had to buy all her cloth diapering products from 6 different websites!
