hi all,

i just saw this posted on a local bulletin board:

I have 9 skeins beige color baby and fingering yarn and 8 skeins of navy color baby and fingering yarn. All Sugar'n Cream brand, all new. They are 3 ply and 100% cotton. 1.25 Ozs per skein. I am asking $1.75 each.

is that a good deal? at the store i didn't see any 1.25 oz skeins, only 2.5 or 2.0.

thanks for the advice!

To my knowledge, Lily doesn't make fingering weight yarn so I would question the product to begin with. That price is above the regular price for the regular cotton in the stores here and well above the sale prices.

i wrote this long reply and lost it so now i have to do it again but revised now

so i dont know if your on rav but you can go on there type in a kind of yarn and it will tell you projects you can make with it this yarn did not exist there and ive never seen a yarn not be there?? strange

also i looked at the sugar n cream site and found none of it.

i would not buy this first because id have no use for fingering weight yarn and secound because i cant find any trace this yarn was ever made. im not saying it does not exist i just think its strange i cant find it which makes we question it label or no label.

let me know what u decide to do im curious

S 'n C is really inexpensive isn't it? Like, couldn't you buy it at a store for that price?

wow, thanks everyone! i will def. not buy it.

as for the yarn existing or not ... i guess maybe they discontinued it or something?

p.s. for those curious, here's the photo the person sent me.

hmm, looks a lot like red heart acrylic to me. I wonder if it was once made, then disco'd...like many years ago. I bet my grandma would know.
It just looks so shiny for cotton...

ETA: I just tried to google it to see if I could find it anywhere in the universe...nope. In fact, the only thing I came across just may have been the Craigslist ad you replied to. Interesting.
