where did my cervix go??

Is my cervix supposed to be playing hide and seek with me? I checked one day and couldn't reach it. The next, it was easy to find. The next, gone again. And today, I can barely barely reach it. (And I have long fingers! ) I can tell that it's quite soft and mushy, so that's good. I'm just wondering if it's normal to have your cervix move around so much? Doesn't it move down for good eventually?

It's totally normal for it to move around during the day - try checking it after having a bm - that tends to move it down nice and favorably.

And the cervix will drop - but that usually doesn't happen until you're in active labor.

My midwife said that it also moves down throughout the day - and back when you lay down - so checking after a nap or waking up in the morning might be particularly hard. I still haven't felt my actual cervix - there is a little noggin in the way....
