Southern Regional in Henry County safe?

I am planning a UC but using prenatal care and registering at hospital in case of transfer.The closest one and only one where the CNM's deliver is Southern Regional.We are new to the area and have no clue about local hospitals.I was iffy because they don't allow videotaping....and now someone who didn't know that was one of our choices volunteered the info..."whatever you do,don't go to Southern Regional,it's a deathtrap.Of course that's not good enough for my husband and he wants/needs more info/input.This person was very adamant and actually said it would be a death sentence for me and the baby.
So I am looking for anyone who has info on this hospital,good or bad.

Well, I had my first dd (5yrs ago) at so. regional. At that point I was unaware of many of the choices I had. when I was offered the Choice of So. regional or Piedmont Fayette for my dd2 (2yrs Nov.) I quickly choose Fayette. I would not choose to go to So. reg. again I just didnt like the feel of it. Fayette is MUCH smaller and newer. Only been birthing about 2 yrs. But, with that said I had no negative experience at So. Regional I just dint like the feel of it.

I was part of a homebirth transfer to Southern Regional. I don't really want to provide details (since it was not my birth) but I would NEVER EVER want to transfer there. They were absolutely beyond awful.

I was there last week for monitoring for my bp. I stayed in triage for about 3 hours and everyone was very nice and helpful. I'm delivering there because that is where my midwives deliver from the practice I go to. I have my birth plan and it has been signed by my midwives so hopefully everything will go smoothly!
