ADHD/Sensory Integration Eval in the TC

I called the University and Children's. Children's told me the wait for an appointment is 4 months!! I'm at my wit's end and can't take my 4-year-old any longer. I had her evaluated at Quello because she usually sees Dr. Anderson but that was a year ago and after a very short neuro exam was told she is fine.

Help! Any recommendations? I think I need a referral for an OT eval.

I'm pretty sure no one is going to get you in any faster- that is just how things are running. If you mostly are interested in OT, then call your doctor's office and just tell them you want a referral for Ot, they can do it. Has your daughter had her 4 year old preschool screening yet? You could ask for that and they would do an assessment and see what you qualify- they have a pretty good handle on what is "normal" in 4 year olds.

I honestly don't think neuorpsychs are worth a ton- they help but mostly you already know what you know and it will just confirm and give some clarity. When my oldest was tested it did confirm that he wasn't a little ADD- he was seriously ADD and we got a few hints about his learning style but that was it. And we still had to figure out what to do. What I tend to tell parents is pretend it says what you think it is going to say, now what are you going to do? Sorry- it is really hard to get services right now. So many kids are having these problems. Let me know if I can help, BTDT.

Thank you. I'll just get her in as fast as I can and try home therapies and things for now, I suppose. I have not had her EC eval done yet and I did think of that today. I gave the office a call here in my school district but they were closed for the day so hopefully I can get that set up tomorrow. I wish I had done it sooner but am glad they may be able to help with some ideas.

I live in an apartment, so I'm unable to make any modification to my apartment for a swing, and I don'the have much room for trampolines and things like that. I'm just going to have to make do.

She did go to ECFE for a couple of months and didn't do very well. Circle time was horrible. She wouldn't sit in my lap at all. Then when everyone cleaned up the room after playtime, she would run in circles around the room and I'd have to chase her down. I'm pretty worried.
