Last night I had an image of myself as a rotisserie chicken with boobs rolling over and over (we cosleep).

Ds1 can't play nice and nurse at the same time and ds2 needs all the milk he can get right now, so I make ds1 wait (and distract him a LOT with things he can do instead that the baby can't do - like eat a cookie The result is that I feel like I'm spending 12 hours or more a day nursing... It's hard but getting better.

My oldest had stopped nursing before I gave birth to Cale and Dillon (I needed to sleep through the night during that pregnancy, so I encouraged him to night wean and that was pretty much the end of it). But I definitely know I was surprised at how much more work it was to nurse twins than just one. I can imagine it must be similar with a toddler and a newborn. Good luck, and hang in there -- although my situation was different, it got easier pretty quickly, and I image it will for you, too, as you all settle into your new routines. * Jaime

DD has started being interested in my boobs again, after 4 months of being weaned. I think it's because she no longer has her pacifier (she adopted it as a transition to weaning, and recently cut it up with scissors, and we didn't get another one). Last night she wanted to try both nipples (ouch, but not as bad as just before she fully weaned). It was just a few seconds on each side. I asked her if there was any milk and she said yes but in that way that I know she means no but she doesn't want me to limit her trying.

So now I'm a little worried that she'll want to nurse whenever she sees the baby nursing. We have discussed and looked at pictures of babies nursing, even babies nursing just after being born. So now she says, "baby come out n' want milks?" And I say, "yes, sweetie, the baby will come out and want milk."

Only time will tell whether I become a rotisserie or not!

"rotisserie chicken" DD weaned suddenly when I was about 4mo pregnant but I seriously had visions of things like that when I thought I would be tandem nursing. Ya'll are my heros!
