non-vax baby and a babysitter who works in daycare

We're considering hiring a babysitter for our non-vaccinated baby. The babysitter we're considering works during the day in a day care center. Does anyone know if this would be significantly increasing our baby's exposure risk? For most of the serious illnesses we read about regarding vaccinations, it seems that day care significantly increases the risk. How much would we expect that a day care employee would end up being a carrier? Anyone know?

My son is not vaccinated and he has been attending the preschool where I work since he was 18 mos. (I also worked there myself when he was even younger) He has never caught anything.
I think it is perfectly fine to let her watch your baby especially if you are breastfeeding.

Thanks for your response, luvbeingamama. We are breastfeeding so that definitely helps. I'm just trying minimize all possible significant exposure risks short of keeping her in a bubble!

Both of my kiddos (2.5 and 6 months) are in daycare full time and I don't think twice about them not being vaccinated. I really don't think you have to worry about the baby sitter at all.

I wouldn't worry about the sitter either. My older children were in daycare and were never vaxed...they did not contract any illnesses (other than colds).

I work in the childcare at the YMCA, I've worked there since Evan was 8 mos old, so AJ was 2.5 and Ilana went the first time w/ me at 2 wks old. This baby will do the same I'm sure.
