definitely, i love front loaders, they hv more options than our top loader (we are renting). i just put a tiny bit of vinegar with baking soda, then run it on hot for 1 full cycle, its good then. but if you hv manufacturer's diapers as oppose to DIY, you might want to check their FAQs.

Have you tried Dawn dishsoap? Just about a tablespoon will do ya. Otherwise you'll be rinsing for days! I've also read about putting them through the dishwasher to strip them. Good luck!
