no pics, but wool is in a cedar chest and the rest are in rubbermaid totes, one for acrylic, one for cotton/natural fibers.

I like the "see through" ones since I can glance and see what colors I have.

not the best system, since if what I want is at the bottom, I usually don't have the patience to put it all back in there nicely so I can see it again.

Stuffed into a clear plastic bin. :

In tupperware type drawer thing and in two old fashion picnic baskets. Active and semi-active projects are in several tote bags..

Several 20 & 30 gallon totes with cedar & lavendar sachets.

This is from last summer, but essentially it's the same. Just a couple more totes, no bags on top and the basket is next to "my" chair with active projects in drawstring bags.

I have one of these. And I just recently switched from Rubbermaid tubs with lids to little bamboo baskets. DH actually suggested it, since the storage is in our bedroom. He is into aesthetics, and I guess the little tubs sticking out about 6" from the cubes weren't cutting it for him.
I also have a space bag in the closet full of wool. I stick satchets with various herbs in them inside the baskets to keep the pests out. I'll try to snap pics later...

I did have moths when my stash was exposed. It was very hard to stuff it in totes, but stuff I did. I love my yarn and love to look at it and touch it whenever I want, but I don't want to breed moths!

I am a yarn hoarder, unfortunately. I have since stopped buying yarn and purposefully pick projects that can use what I have so I can get my stash down to a reasonable level. I use a number of these
http://www.target.com/Sterilite-70-q...e=1&rh=&page=1

and I separate them by categories.
  • sock yarns and super nice colorways
  • worsted
  • bulky and dk (it's easy to separate them when looking, rather than putting dk with worsted)
  • current projects that are on hold. i have these separated in the tote in plastic baggies. its easier to sort through and doesn't get messed up.
i also use a red tin heart box (old russell stovers candy box) to contain my notions.

and then i have a small box which contains current projects that i am actually knitting. a sweater, a scarf, a blanket.

I had moths munch on my clapotis when it was a WIP... a couple of knots not too bad.

Yeah, I make a conscious effort to have my yarn stash fit in that. I've a small house. Declutter. Declutter. Declutter.

My mother gave me a dim sum basket (the kind they use to walk around and sell it in, it's big!) they brought back from Hong Kong when I was like 5. It has six levels and they are all filled up! I love it, it sits right next to my chair in the living room, looks nice. No one would know it's all filled up with yarn

Ditto. Although make it three bins (in the basement) and I have cedar balls in with the yarn too. Plus I have a large wicker basket with yarn for my "current" projects in the office.

I store most of my yarn and fiber in 2 of these: http://tinyurl.com/4shelfcabinet
The ones I have look a little different -- I bought them 6 years ago when they were $50 (now they're $85).

Well, as much as I would like to have my beautiful yarn on display, moths & other yarn munching buggers have forced me to use those giant ziploc bags. And I still need to make more lavender sachets to go in them.

But, for yarn I intend to use soon, I bought a stack of "hat boxes". I still put the yarn in ziplocs, but at least the hat boxes are pretty to look at and I can get to them fairly quickly. The big ziplocs are in a closet in my daughters' room.
