HOW TO TALK SO KIDS WILL LISTEN + LISTEN SO KIDS WILL TALK
LIBERATED PARENTS, LIBERATED CHILDREN
Faber and Mazlish are the authors of these two adored books on the subject of communicating with your children effectively! We all communicate, sure; but we’re not always happy with the methods we use and we don’t always get the results we really want, right?
Following along the line of the LLL philosophy of Loving Guidance, these women have created an 8 Session group series available to the general public for use in self-guiding one’s communication skills. Reading the books is a start. Practicing conscientiously is the next step.
LLL Paris English is pleased to offer a Communication Skills Group in English running from September to November. The group will be limited to 10 -12 parents with children of 18 months and over (exceptions can always be made). Rachel Lamb a LLL Leader with Paris English and Marie-Florence Astoin and Helen Goldsmith; LLL active members, will be leading the workshops together.
The group series will run over 8 sessions and includes time to reflect on the progress made. The meetings require some preparation but most importantly a willingness to share open and honest personal experiences of your journey through parenthood. Regular attendance is expected of anyone who would like to commit to this series.
The meetings will take place on Monday afternoons at Marie-Florence’s home in Paris 18th – metro Blanche or Abbesses. The arrival time will be 1-1.15pm for a sharp start at 1.30pm. The sessions are intended to last two hours but the material is dense so all meetings will start promptly. The first session will be on September 22nd. As with all LLL meetings children are welcome.
It is essential to have both copies of ‘Liberated Parents, Liberated Children’ and ‘How To Talk So Kids Will Listen + Listen So Kids Will Talk’. Some French copies will be available for sale at the first meeting.
There will be a small admin charge for these sessions of 10 euros. The workbooks are an additional 10 euros, as these workshops are a LLL activity giving priority to members we are endeavouring to keep the charge as low as possible.
